By far, the most popular maneuver in surfing is called "tube riding." This happens when the surfer pulls under the curl of the wave and it breaks over his whole body until he gets spit out. Common moves for longboarders are: hanging five or ten, cutbacks, walking the board. For shortboarders, it's a whole other story, they're doing aerials, powerful roundhouse cutbacks, snaps, off the lips, floaters, 360's, chop hops, and different variations in the air.
