I highly recommend How to Grow More Vegetables, by John Jeavons ($13.56 at Amazon.com) It discusses many of the techniques I used as a volunteer, and a few that I wish I could have used. My only problem with the book was that it did not focus towards a developing country, leaving the biggest problem of how to irrigate a garden up to me.
