mood: relaxed.
music: i'm stuck on "April Showers" from Bambi. hey why not? it's april and it's raining... *(~.^) (evil kelly, evil...)
blurb: happy to say that spring 2003 semester is officiall over, finals and all! not that i had many: one essay test in eng. lit. 2 and a paper in world lit. 2. fun for me, altho others look at me weird when i say that. ;p
so now that all that's over i'll be starting summer school june 17th. of course, what to do until then? work. (>_<) i know, i know. a break and i work. why not a fun trip somewhere? well, no money, thus the working. ah well. i'll have summer blockbusters keeping me company. yay!
X2: X-Men United Friday, May 2nd! look at that, i even used proper capitalization and everything, must be important. ;p i already got my tix and am planning to be there 1hr and 30mins before it actually starts. gotta get great seats people! heh, the "lizzie maguire movie" will be squished. :: eagerly awaits news casts on how much it bombed::. i know something else is due out friday... :: checks :: "Blue Car" and "The Dancer Upstairs." i think i'll go for Blue Car,intriguing premise. reminds me of White Oleander for some reason.
either way, other things too keep me occupied: manga! woohoo! waiting on issue 6 of Chobits, which is a wonderful japanese comic set in a world where computers are modeled after people, just with over-large cat-like ears, which are where their ports are. anyways, Hideki is a poor farm boy and all-around nice guy. he saves and moves to the big city where everyone has a persocom (what they call their people-like puters). he's a little shaken by the culture clash, but really wants one to help with his cram school, internet surfing, emails... oh and not to mention online porn. it's hilarious 'cause he's so modest and *nice*... anyways. he find a custom-built persocom in the trash and swipes it for his very own, which turns out to be Chii: a custom persocom with a mysterious past. no one knows who built her, or why, but she's like a small child. everyone she meets thinks she's so *kawaii*! and she is!
then there's Mars, an awesome angsty manga who's tagline is "A Bad Boy Can Change a Good Girl Forever." that intrigued me enough to buy the first manga, and in the past month i've collected all of the translated volumes 1 - 10. i'm hooked. it's so *addictive*! Rei: bad boy, womanizer, and aspiring world class motorcycle racer. Kira: quiet, introverted artist who doesn't really have many friends and keeps emotions bottled in. their paths cross one day out of the blue, and great stories and subplots ensue. trust me, Rei and Kira are just adorable together. in this scenario, the old cliché holds true: opposites attract!
i think there was this other one that i won't really follow too religiously, Planet Ladder. great story so far tho: a high school girl from our world, Kaguya Haruyma, turns out to be the princess of another world, 'cause as it turns out there seven worlds in existence, but not all of them populated. Kaguya is suddenly come after by a mad prince, his henchmen, and some other guys all trying to capture her so she can make her decision in their worlds' favors. you see, the fate of seven worlds sits on her sholders. she needs to pick one world, from the seven, that will be saved while the others will be wiped from existence. heady stuff for someone her age. so i'll be buying the rest of those later on, after i satisfy my addictions to Chobits and Mars. *(^-^)*
then there's "Ceres: Celestial Legend" and "Magic Knights Rayearth" that i'll soon fall into again. probably "Magic Knights" more-so than the other 'cause of the price. "Ceres" is 15.95 a volume and "Magic Knights" is like the others i've mentioned, just 9.99. makes a huge difference. i am a full-time college student afterall...
