mood: tired and achy (=__=)
music: just the buzz of the air pump to my "new" fish tank...
blurb: you know when you're really, really sick and don't want to really get out of bed? yeah, that was me yesterday and today, except for today i actually tried going to work. i went home after three and half hours. (-__-);;
anyways, trying not to die of the flu and the boredom that comes with just lying in bed so i decided to blog. let's see if by the end of this i actually get an appetite... :: wonders about soup ::
christmas>> inconsequential. went to a christmas eve dinner, like every year, with my fam and the closest friends of the fam since all of my extended family is in Puerto Rico. got a few things for christmas; i didn't really have a ready-made list or anything. a bottle of Curve, which i needed but never got around to buying, a few blouses, some money, etc. oh and get this: my best friend got me a betta splenden!
i named him Nuriko, after a wonderful character in the anime, Fushigi Yuugi. my best friend helped me down that track, since i was already thinking of naming him Bishie, which was going to be short for Bishonen or "pretty boy" in Japanese.
this little fish, who's pictured on the left, has quite a personality. he hates brine shrimp and will not have any of it. loves his pellets, but won't eat them unless he's sure to get bloodworms. his air stone is his friend. he loves attacking the bubbles and eating as many as he can. his fav thing is just to lounge beside the air stone... but when i come up to the tank he's on alert and comes out of hiding. hah, and he watches me when i go back and sit down in front of my puter.
ah well, i'll keep everyone posted on Nuriko's well-being. he's not the first fish i've had; the others were tetras and they died within the span of a few months. i'm thinking it was because there were too many of them in one 2 gal tank (11 fish for a 2 gallon tank is not great). but no one told me about how evil ammonia can be or nitrite or detergent residue. so ignorance killed them. (¡__¡) so i've bought about a dozen different things to stabilize water conditions and treat any bacterial/parasitic infections; think worst case scenario paranoia. be prepared for any contingency, so say the Navy Seals (?).
school>> it starts again next week, which bites, but at least it's only tuesday and thursday classes. what i need to do is re-take art history 2 'cause this past semester didn't go too well. i won't whine, but in truth, it was the teacher's methods. i mean, i took the first part at an accelerated pace with a teacher considered the hardest in teh deparatment through the summer and came away with a B+. so i dunno...
ah well, i guess i'll get back to bed. i'm not feeling too hot now.. (=__=) and even my creative juices are zapped. being sick sucks.

well, i'm feeling a whole lot better so i thought adding a bit more to that piddling blog would be the best thing to do.
first off, i mourn the loss of some of my favorite manga and comic titles in this new year than i mourn the passing of last year. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman: Trinity, Fray, Domino, Mars, and Chobits. so i'm in the process of picking up some new titles. some are Ultimate Spiderman, Faerie's Landing, Girl's Got Game, maybe Forbidden Dance, and definitely the new prequel series of Mars TokyoPop's putting out called Mars: Horse With No Name.
i'm just excited that Black Cat has actually be re-intro'd in Ultimate Spiderman along with Elektra, so this'll be interesting. Black Cat's always been one of my fav comic heroine's. sorta like Marvel's Catwoman, you know?
