01.19.04 --

mood: tired + relaxed. (^__^)

music: Madonna - Frozen (remix), Ray of Light (remix)

blurb: running low on sleep again and waging war against the ignorant masses. oh, and also those who are ignorant of themselves. talk about trying to solve the problems of the world. ever hear about or meet someone that are worse off, and then realize that your station in life isn't that bad? i have. it may seem snotty and self-absorbed, but it also means i'm finally comfortable with myself.

between the wired and RL you sort of come to terms with yourself and your problems when unconsciously using others' troubles as a measuring stick. sure i have money problems, personal issues, etc. but in the end what gets me through the day is the realization that... well i won't jinx myself, but you know what i mean. (~__^)

the little things are what pull me through. a pretty day, feeding my little betta, doodling, reading, and just the regular routines of going to school and work. they're the supports to the shakey frames that make up what's left of me at the end of the day. the simplicities in life, no matter how miniscule, are what really keep me going until i hit something substantial, some fuel to drive me forward in whatever form it might come in. funny how sometimes looking at a simple yellow flower could relax me so much...

continued: 01.20.04

anyways, i'm back after another 9 - 5 at work. at least i wasn't chided and told to be a big girl before getting my lunch break like i was yesterday. it's not cool to start a 9 - 5 shift with no breakfast and be expected to hold out until 2pm under any circumstance, busy or not. (T__T)

but whatever. forgive and forget, or maybe just seethe silently unto yourself, whatever works. working on mondays guarantees awesome co-workers. even on a busy day, there's a certain comraderie and great conversation. i would've enjoyed it more had it not been that i've been sleeping 5 hour nights for the past weekend. bad me. ah well, i'll try to get back on track before i fall over.

at least i found a cool 1936 nickel at work. i get a kick out of handling old things. just imagining all the years that stand between me and when the coin was minted is enough to send me off writing like a maniac. heh, postings of said writing will be at a later date. (~__^)

beats getting my identity stolen. some wise-ass thought he could charge something on my credit card and get away with it. over a hundred dollars in overdraft fees and actual purchases. evilness. (T__T) but i'll argue everything out tomorrow with the bank since today was a holiday. at least i canceled my card the day after said illegal transaction was madethis weekend. i won't be responsible for this one. nope, no sir. i really think it was the fact that to get a deferrment at a schoolbooks store they had to make copies of all my IDs, including my credit card, last wednesday. so yeah, saturday rolls around and someone charges something to NY New York Pace University, and i'm in Florida. plus, i was working all day on saturday and the only thing i charged was a dollar for a soda. yeah, i'm confident this will be solved in due time. on to happier thoughts...

all this non-sleep has been spent playing two-player solitaire with some online buds, heh, if you can believe that oxymoron. oh and just changing the look of my puter. used to be a darker Lain theme, but now Chobits. yay! nice and yellow too as you can see. (^__^) i'll eventually get around to changing the XP skin...

movie-wise i saw Peter Pan, definitely cute. Jason Isaacs rocks as Capt. Hook. oh and i saw Mona Lisa Smile, which felt so incomplete i want to read the book now. character relationships really needed more time to blossom. two of said characters ended up making complete 180s personality-wise and there were no reasons why. i hate that. next on my list is Girl with the Pearl Earing at one of the only smaller dinner theatres in the Greater Orlando Area that actually shows foreign and limited release films. after that, i definitely gotta see The Company. it seems like Center Stage but i don't care 'cause it looks promising. (^__^)

lastly, i'm stuck on Season 2 of Teen Titans. they kicked off the new season by introducing one of my fav characters of the DC universe, Nightwing. woo! looking forward to this coming saturday night's ep, "Terra." introduces a new female character with out-of-control super powers. Slade's also slotted for an appearance, so let's all see Robin meltdown. (~__^)

alrighty, well this little college senior needs to study for a certian French quiz. so off i go! bon nuit, á bientôt.

extra thought: don't say "au revior" unless you never plan on seeing that person again, even in death, according to my professeur. (^^)
