Mammoth Cave Adventure
March 22 – 24, 2002
Reservations have been made for the Intro to Caving Spelunking and the Grand
Avenue Tour at Mammoth Cave National Park. An great opportunity to learn
more about geology in a challenging environment. Camping details will be
finalized in February but plan ahead for damp, early spring weather. Each
participant is asked to pay only $15.00 towards the total expenses which
includes the tour fee and food.
Special Note: Hiking boots are required for Intro to Caving – no tennis
shoes allowed for this tour only. Gloves and knee pads are also suggested.

Roy C. Manchester Summer Camp
June 30 – July 6, 2002
Plan ahead to attend the summer camp adventure at Roy C. Manchester on the
beautiful Kentucky Lake near Benton, KY. A great opportunity to meet and
interact with other scouts and work on merit badges. Camp registration
packets will be distributed to each scout by the end of February with
complete information on classes and cost. The troop also needs adult
volunteers to assist with this camping experience. Adult leaders provide
general support for the scouts during the week and also participate in
events scheduled for leaders. Please contact Charlie Nix if your schedule
allows you to join the troop as a leader for the whole week or for just a
day or two.
Junior Leadership Training - Camp Wildcat Hollow
July 21 – 26, 2002
The following scouts will be eligible for JLT Training during the summer of
2002: Marc Thomson, Grant Smith, Mike Nix, John Krzton-Presson, David
Sweeney, and Matt Boyd. This training includes management and scouting
skills that assist the older scouts in providing leadership within their
troops. The Lincoln Heritage Council also has JLT dates available in
mid-June and late July for those that have a scheduling conflict with our
