Brief history of our club: It all started sometime in the spring of 2001 with a popiah buffet, fourteen hungry people, and a common love for figure skating. Thus formed the Tropical Blades Ice Skating Club. Figure skating is for everyone of any age, any level, and any state of mind. That was the premise under which we formed Tropical Blades. We are a group of adult skaters who want to see the sport develop both recreationally and competitively. In July 2001, we became an officially registered club under ROS and joined Singapore Ice Skating Association as a member club. In the first year of our existence, we have organised an exhibition and "An Evening of Skating With Us", as well as started regular ice dance sessions. Subsequently, we have also organised exhibitions, as well as a skating camp. |
