Nominations should be sent to the Council Office: Awards presented include: District Award of Merit
This is a Council Award presented upon recommendation of the District Awards Committee. This is the highest award presented through the district to registered Scouters active in units and/or district involvement, who render noteworthy and outstanding service to youth. It is normally, but not necessarily, reserved for Scouters with considerable tenure who have received the District Plaque. Currently, a maximum of four Awards of Merit may be presented annually by the Tres Ranchos District. This number is based upon a percentage of the total number of units in the district.
District Plaque
Our district created this award to recognize those registered Scouters who: (1) have a minimum of three years as a registered Scouter (the length of time can be a factor), (2) who have already received the District Recognition Board, and (3) who have continued outstanding service to Scouting. A maximum of ten District Plaques are presented annually.
District Recognition Boards
Our district created this award to recognize those registered Scouters who: (1) have a minimum of two years as a registered Scouter, and (2) who have rendered outstanding service to Scouting (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting and/or district involvement). A maximum of twenty District Recognition Boards are presented annually.
Certificate of Appreciation
Presented to Scouters who have rendered significant service to Scouting during the past year(s). The only qualifying criteria is: Anyone who is recommended by a Pack, Troop, Team, Crew or District Committee or Commissioner Staff.
Unsung Hero Awards
Each Pack, Troop, Team and Crew is asked to select one individual in a non-leadership position who has given strong and continued support to the success of the unit's program. The recommendation should be made by the Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Varsity Coach, or Unit Committee Chairman. Those submitted will be recognized at the Dinner!
The district awards night is normally held in May to recognize the volunteers of the Tres Ranchos District for their outstanding service. All unit scouters, district scouters, chartered organizational reps, spouses, and friends are invited to attend. Details on the recognitions available are listed below, along with nomination forms for the current year.
