Thursday night the union ballroom rang with Truc's oldies of rock and roll. Not only did the ballroom ring but plenty of beer following each dance set may have set a few heads ringing. (Photo by Dave Diamond)

Musical Hit at Young America

Truc, a local band, delighted another Milwaukee crowd with it's '50s rock 'n roll. The revival rock was the hit of the afternoon as thousands of persons happily sang along to tunes recorded by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley and the Comets and others. A few young persons even jitterbugged in the water.

Revival Carries 10,000 Back to Rock Heyday

Jerry Lee Lewis and four other rock groups Tuesday night carried an audience of more than 10,000 back to those halcyon days when the greatest concern of teenagers was how to clear up pimples.
However, a group which got a hearty reception from the crowd was TRUC. Eight local musicians and singers who are caricatures of the musical demigods of the '50s like Little Richard, Elvis and Chuck Berry.

Truc with Milwaukee Symphony Feb 8, 1974

Truc-Symphony Team Has Good Vibrations

The Milwaukee symphony started the evening on a serious note, performing Milhaud's "Creation of the World" and the Tchaikovsky classic, "1812 Overture." After a brief break the orchestra returned wearing T-shirts with Truc's name emblazoned across the front. The rock band appeared in white ties and tails. When conductor Schermerhorn appeared, his Truc T-shirt, befitting the stature of an internationally known maestro, was decked out in sequins. The band and symphony played one number together, the classic by Chuck Berry "Roll Over Beethoven," and then the orchestra left, leaving Truc to perform it's crowd pleasing performance and everyone went home happy.
