"WHY"

if you weren't ready
why didn't you say so?
if you didn't want me to stay
why didn't you let me go?
if you knew so much
why did you insist
that i stay in touch?
all i want to know is why?

why did you let me love you?
when you knew you didn't feel the same
why is that when i showed you love
all i got in return waas pain?
why did you pick ME
to be your "special friend"?
when you knew you wouldn't stay long
and leave me in the end
all i want to know is why?

why did you treat me so good
especially when you knew
i'd give you everything i could
why did you lead me on
if you knew you weren't ready?
why is that, now it's the end
you're the happy one
and i'm the one that's torn?
all i really want to know is why?
