Egyptian Salon
I call this project "echoes of the Nile on blue print."
My idea for this salon was to use as a reference the historical period
of the
Egyptians, without reproducing it to the utmost of details.
In a playful way, I wanted to reproduce the architectural features
of that time, the warm color of the land, the myth of the river Nile
and the golden past.
With a special process called blue printing on fabrics, I printed
all the
upholster fabrics with Egyptian images. The furniture was kept in a
simple
and linear style.
Some walls were covered with irregular pieces of cork for accent, while
other walls were textured in warm, golden colors with slightly
visible veins in green. The hardwood floor was inlaid with mosaic squares.
