TRUTHS

=====================================================================

  TO A CHILD

Beautiful girl, you have the likeness

of the lilies, of the Madonna lilies and of the violets.

I like to see you, angelical child, —

dear flower, of the more dear flowers.

And, when you laugh, your sonorous laughter,

that on your lips, rosy, it floats,

it is the dawn that illuminates the paradise,

this my paradise that is your mouth.

I stare you, to laugh if you laugh, because your mouth,

for that suave laughter, a little open,

my sufferings diminish, it diminishes

and a frank happiness wakes me up.

In that small paradise, oh small child,

so little that it is, as floodgates

— In my small Eden, your little mouth —

uncountable laughters that you transport me?

You are so beautiful, you are delicate and little,

as the lilies of which you have pure essence.

I like to see you angelical girl,

because I adore the beauty and I love the innocence.
