Rules for Joining TAC
1. Read the journals of people who are already members of The
Anonymous Collective. We post a lot, so please don't try to join unless
you're serious about responding.
2. If you like what you see, check the list of taken
characters to make sure you won't be doubling anyone. If you've got no idea
who you want to be, or want the likelihood of becoming a member to increase,
pick a character from the suggested characters
list.
3. Get a journal on Blurty.com,
as well as an email (from Yahoo!
or Hotmail), and a
screen name on AOL Instant
Messenger. Please try to make your character's journal, email, and screen
name something obvious. For example: Taylor Hanson's journal is "taylor_".
His screen name is "trying on taylor" and his email is "trying_on_taylor@yahoo.com".
If you were randomly IM'd by him, it's likely you'd realize that not only is he
Taylor, but he's not the real Taylor. Other favored words are mostly, sometimes,
hardly, truly, maybe, and almost.
4. In your userinfo on Blurty, change the website to http://, then go to codes
and add the disclaimers. If you don't add the disclaimer, we won't add you.
5. Research your character. You don't have to follow their lives to the
last detail, but we don't want this too OOC (out of character).
6. Meet people. Comment other TAC members' journals, talk to them on
AIM, add them to your friends list. Do not add celebrities from other
role-playing communities. We don't want doubled characters, or the vast amounts
of confusion that generally come from that sort of thing.
7. Add anon_collective
to your friends list. Post to anon_maintainer,
or one of the admins (taylor_
and scott_) and
ask to be added. After a trial period, you probably will be.
