VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers will be needed to ring bells at The Salvation Army Red Kettles, greeting people and thanking those who donate. Starting date: November 18th. Call 503-628-4909 to sign up for the times you would like to ring the bell.

Volunteers are needed to sort and organize the donated toys at the distribution center. This is ongoing for the 6 week season from November 18th through December 24th. We have three main days of distributing these toys from our store. Sign up to help throughout the season or for the main distribution days. At the end of distribution we will need help in the clean up and removal of all the equipment we used to set up the stores.

Volunteers are needed to sort and organize the donated foods for distribution to those in need in our community. This will be ongoing throughout the season just like the toys. There will be three main days of distribution and we will need your help in that area. There will also be cleanup and shut down of this store at the end of distribution. Any excess food is used in the following months, as we give out food boxes all year long.

If you need a miracle in your life this Christmas Season, I would encourage you to volunteer. This is the season that we see miracles daily and all from the wonderful people in our community.

Our first miracle this Christmas Season was given to us by Mrs. Arlene Schnitzer who has once again generously donated the store for the Salvation Army Beaverton Christmas Center. For the third year in a row Mrs. Schnitzer has given to us the use of a store in Canyon Place Shopping Center

This year she has gone further by donating the use of a second store. The main store will be used for our offices and multiple uses for collecting donations for our families in need. The second store will be used for the food distribution. The Salvation Army Beaverton Corps extends our deepest thanks to our
first miracle worker, Mrs. Arlene Schnitzer.
