Traveling and camping is just great fun. Then you throw in square dancing, game playing, socializing, pot lucks, sight seeing, eating out, and shopping you have one of the best activities around if not the best.
Avis and I just returned from the Texas State Festival, in Waco, and it was super. The largest attendance in over seven years. There were a lot of campers at three different RV parks, we were proud of the turnout. We except to visit all camping clubs during our term as president, we started with a visit to the Southwest Camping squares 40th anniversary at the Stone Creek RV Park in Shertz, Texas. We had a great time, they had a large crowd and they welcomed us and made our stay even better. We really need them back in our State Organization. The next TSCS festival will be September 18-20, at Sta-way RV Park in Murchison, Texas. There will be a very important meeting in regards to the TSCS hosting the TSFSRD conclave in March 2011 in Mineola, Texas. Things are in motion and we are getting exited. Have a great summer, drive carefully, keep camping and dancing, keep our fellow members and friends who are not able to be out and about in your prayers.
Don’t forget “Go for the Goal” it’s easy and it’s money in your clubs pocket.

The camping squares of East Texas have been having some very good campouts this year. The last one was July in Gladewater at Antique Capital RV Park. It is a very nice place and has a very nice meeting room. We had seven RV’s at this one. We are busy getting everything ready in September for the hosting of Texas State Camping Squares and are looking forward to seeing a good turnout at Staway RV Park on highway 31 in Murchinson. We are planning fun and fellowship for everyone so all of you set September 18-20, and join in the fun. We are looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing those that we already know. Please take this as an invitation to all of you (yes, that means you!!). We will see you there. We have about 45 spaces reserved at Staway RV and we have 5 rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn Express in Athens for the Texas Federation officers that do not have RV’s. Heart of Texas Camping Squares are surviving the heat, barely!! We are going to Lake Whitney the 21st of August for our campout. We have had some campers with real medical problems lately. We wish them all well and back to camping and dancing soon. Looking forward to the State in September, hope to see a lot of old friends.

North Texas Camping Squares have had a great year of square dancing and camping.
Our October campout will be 9-11, at Mineola Civic Center and our November campout will be 13-15, at Lazy L. The November campout will also be our Anniversary dance.

What a great time we had hosting the March Texas State Camping Squares Dance in Corsicana. Sam Houston had 12 rigs out of a total of 42 rigs present. Keith Malone's brothers again entertained us after our dance Saturday night. Bernie Youngblood came all the way from Houston to call for us. Thanks Bernie & Linda.
