Lahaina

Lahaina is host to some of Maui's best sunsets. Front street is where everything is happening here. This high tourist area boasts some of Maui's best restaurants, Art galleries and shopping. Lahaina is also home to the largest Banyan tree on Maui. The tree is home to many birds that sing throughout the day. The atmosphere in Lahaina is very relaxing and the views are spectacular. A trip to Lahaina is a must for anyone who goes to Maui. It has something for everyone and if by chance your here for Halloween this is definately where you want to be.

Lahaina is also a historical whaling community with lots of history. A community that was once well known for hunting the Humpback whales is now well known for whale watching tours through the months of November-April. If you are visiting Maui during these months a whale watching charter can be exciting for the whole family. Sometimes the whales will swim right up next to the boat, other times you might see them breaching in the distance. The Humpbacks return to the islands from Alaska to give birth to there calves and breed. Then they begin there journey back to Alaska for the summer months./

Some of the best Luau's on Maui are in Lahaina. You will see fire dancers, traditional Polinesian dances, eat Kahlua pig and drink Mai Tai's at all luau's. I recommend the Old Lahaina Luau to anyone who has there heart set on one of the best. I can tell you from my experience that the service was great along with the food and entertainment was outstanding.

Overall, Lahaina is a great place to take one day out of your vacation to explore, shop, dine and just enjoy the atmosphere.

The park on South side of lahaina. Front Street. Planet Hollywood. Taken near Cheeseburger in paradise. What a sunset.
