use, and our startup ventures will have much higher chance to succeed
in the Park.

biggest National Day celebration festival in South Bay, with about
3000 people joined. Co-organized by over 60 Chinese orgaizations
in the Bay Area, while Silicon Valley Tsinghua Network (SVTN), along
with Nankai Alumni Association, Beida Alumni Association, Silicon
Valley Chinese Engineer Association, Huyuan Science and Technology
Association, Nanhai Arts Center are the 6 leading organizations.

Cup Volleyball is a major event in the National Day Celebration
Festival. There are 20 volleyball teams from Bay Area Chinese alumni
associations and other volleyball groups joined this exciting event.
In the Co-ed group, Tsinghua Network (SVTN) team won Beida alumni
team in the semi-final match, but lost to Fudan alumni team in the
final match, and won the 2nd place finally!(link to Shui Tao’s
article). Also, in the All-men group, led by Tsinghua/Jiaoda alumnus
Joe Zhu (captain), Shanghai JiaoDa alumni team won the 2nd place;
led by Tsinghua alumna Snow Shi (captain), team Fremont won the
3nd place.

About the event: Joint
picnic by 7 alumni associations: Nankai, Tianda, Shanghai Jiaoda,
Fudan, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tsinghua Network, Zheda.
About 500 people attended. After picnic, volleyball contest started
among 12 teams. Led by captain Tao Shui, Tsinghua Network team defeated
Fudan alumni team in the final match, and won the Champion!

- 06/2003 "Send mask to China with love, fight SARS" campaign

About the event: Fundraising event led by SCEA and SVC, co-organized
by about 30 Chinese organizations in San Francisco Bay Area. The
charity event collected $50,158 donation and sent over 41,000 N95
mask, 7,375 medical gowns and 252 bottles ISO-propyl Alcohol to
China burring four of the shipments.

(Santa Cruz, Sacremento etc.) and Southern California area (Los
Angels, San Diego etc.) joined. Event features BBQ, Chinese deli,
kids fun, raffle, games, and Tsinghua Cup Volleyball. We have some
VIP guests (Vice General Consul Mr. Qiu and Consul Yan from SF Chinese
Consulate General Office, President of THAA-NC, President of Nankai
alumni association) joined our event this year.

About the event: Tsinghua
Cup Volleyball is one big event of the Beijing Tsinghua Spring Picnic.
There are 8 teams from different organizations (Tsingua, Stanford,
Nankai, Dida, Eureka Club, Volleyball Fremont) joined the competition.
Led by Captain Tao Shui, Tsinghua Network team won the Champion
this year for the first time! Stanford Chinese team won the 2nd
place. Eureka and Fremont teams won he 3nd place. All winning teams
have a big trophy.
