Wait the Governor, on examining the wound of Chas. Davis We find the wound upon the forearm has divided several of the muscles essentially necessary towards the usefullness of his hand - and should suppose him a pension in some measure worthy the Governor's Clemency.

He married Hannah Gaines there in 1783, Ancestry.com and FTM CD Rom refrences, and James B Davis his son, my gggg-grandfather, was born there in *1785. *Reference 1850 and 1860 Census for Cass Co, IL showing his age as 65 and 74 respectively. Charles Davis was born in Spotsylvania Co, VA, the son of James Conway Davis and Mary Elizabeth (Carter)Davis and grandson of Thomas Davis and g-grandson of John Davis.
