A cistern in a pasture in the country in Navarro County is the only remaining clue that a farm house once stood here. It was the home of Ira and Vileta Davis of Navarro County. The background photo is of Ira & Vileta Davis and my Grandad Alvah N Davis at their farm. I believe this cistern is also shown in background photo. Ira was the son of John Barton Davis and Mirilda J Kimbrell of Navarro County. He was the brother of my Great Grandfather Charles Edward Davis. Grandfather and Grandmother called him Uncle Ira and visited as often as they could. Ira and Vileta Davis are both buried in the New Pursley Cemetery a few miles from where this photo was taken.
