Welcome Back to NESpresso, version 3.0!

First of all, you're probably wonder "What the heck happened here?" After like 2 years of neglect, I finally got back to my own website. During that time, I was working for another website & I couldn't keep things going here. I've also developed beyond Geocities terms of service. However, since I haven't been able to find a site that allows me to do more what I'd like to do at the moment. I just have to use the webspace that I have available until I can find a bet website provider.

The new site design seems a lot more user-friendly than the old site. As you can already see, I'm using a lighter color scheme. The "NESpresso" & dark brown colors still exist on the site, but are used more as accents than major background colors. Most of the text you'll read will be black on white, but the menu will be white on dark brown. Sidebars (as you'll see with reviews) will be black on yellow. Finally, I'm using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) on my pages, so if things look messed up, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER RIGHT NOW!!! Are you confused yet? No? Good! On we go!

The navigation systems from the old site have been practically thrown out & replaced with a more streamlined system. At the top of every page, you'll see the "You are Here" bar below the site logo. If you can't find it, it the "NESpresso:/>" line. I know it looks so 1980's with the MS-DOS like prompt. As you get further into the site, the length of that line will increase (as well as the address in the URL bar). Each part that is yellow is a clickable while each part is white isn't. The closer you click towards the "NESpresso" part, the closer you get to this page. Clicking on "NESpresso" will get you back here. If you don't really understand this, then just use your back button... I'm not going to bend backwards to make my site idiot friendly when commercial sites don't.

The menus will always be listed on the left side of the page when there's related information. Just a note that white items are unvisited places, pink items are visited places & grey items are unlinked items on the menu. Again, White / Pink = Linkage. Grey = NO Linkage. If there's no related information for a page, there'll be no menu bar. Within the story section, you will see multiple page links (previous / next page) on the top & bottom of the pages. I didn't include "Go to Page..." links at the moment because of the work required to pull it off. It was a lot easier to add the 2 page links with the text instead of working with the page to impliment these features at the moment. I may work on the story templates later to put these in.

For those who are wondering how much time I've taken to build this site from the ground up, here's a brief breakdown (in HH:MM).

  02:00 -- Menu-based Template creation
  01:00 -- Menu-less Template creation
01:00 -- Alternate Menuless Template creation
  00:30 -- Template Debugging
02:30 -- "About TS" page creation, w/ Debug
02:30 -- Creation of Game Review Templates
              w/ Edits & Debug
01:00 -- Animal Crossing review creation
02:30 -- Transcription of Captain Nintendo
  01:00 -- Links page creation
06:00 -- Other pages not listed here
  01:00 -- Daily Drip writting
  01:30 -- Preview & debuging
  22:30 -- TOTAL TIME USED
x$10.00 -- Minimum rate for upcoming Webmasters
$225.00 -- DEVELOPMENT COST

As you can see, if I was doing this for somebody else, it would have costed somebody else around $250 for all the work I've done for the 80-some pages that are used here, although 20 of those pages are templates to create other pages.

Due to the age of the old site, many of the affiliates that were listed on NESpresso are either outdated, moved or non-existant. I hate to say it, but I'm starting my affiliates list from scratch. If you were on the old affiliate's list & want back on, please e-mail me with your new button graphic & address to TStodden.geo@yahoo.com . You'll be added back the list on the next update.

I think that's everything for this update of NESpresso, if I have anything else to say, you can find it here... I'll c'ya latte!
