TSU Baseball and Softball Player Wins SWAC Award
Houston, Texas –Texas Southern first baseman Jason Roy was honored as SWAC Batter of the Week respectively.
In a four-game sweep over SWAC Western Division foe Prairie View A&M, Roy batted an incredible .625 while going 5-for-8 with eight runs batted in. His week included two homers, one double and five runs scored.
The Sharpstown High School product has been a key factor in TSU’s 16-4 conference record (18-18 overall). The Tigers currently are second place in the SWAC Western Division.
The baseball team will play again in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, noon, April 7 against Southern University.
