Texas Southern Announces Athletic Director

Houston-TX-Texas Southern University officials today announced the hiring of Alois Blackwell as its new Director of Athletics. Mr. Blackwell replaces Enos Cabell who served as interim director for several months. Blackwell's experience includes having served for seven years as assistant athletic director of athletics at the University of Houston. He is a former professional football player with the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs. Quintin Wiggins, TSU's Senior Vice President for Business and Finance, who has direct oversight of athletics, stated that the University extends its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Enos Cabell for his outstanding service as interim athletics director. "The University Family wishes Mr. Cabell well in his future endeavors," Wiggins said.
