Texas Southern Wins Second Straight, tops Grambling 80-64

Houston, Texas— Chris Miller scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Texas Southern (3-10, 2-2 SWAC) won it’s second straight game with a decisive 80-64 victory against Grambling. Ricky Bennett added 16 points, shooting seven for nine from the free throw line. Akil Butler tied a career high with 13 points. William Howell led Grambling with 19 points. At the end of 20 minutes, both teams were tied at 38. However, TSU picked up the pace, outscoring the G-Men 42-26 to put the game out of reach. In the second frame, TSU shot 16-19 from the free throw line, compared to 4-5 for Grambling. TSU returns to action, January 20 at Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The game will be televised locally on KNWS-TV Channel 51 as part of the SWAC Basketball Television Package.
