Texas Southern Loses to Mississippi Valley 87-62 Itta Bena, Miss. (AP)— D’Jamal Jackson scored 27 points and DeWayne Jefferson had 22 as Mississippi Valley State defeated Texas Southern 87-62 Monday night. The Delta Devils (8-6, 5-2 SWAC) were 14-for-33 from 3 point range, led by Jackson’s 7-for-12. Rakim Hollis led TSU (4-11, 3-3) with 17 points. Ricky Bennett added 16 and Chris Miller had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Ashley Robinson had 12 points and nine assists for Mississippi Valley State. The Delta Devils used a 23-9 run midway through the second half to put the game out of reach. TSU returns to action, 7 p.m., January 27 against Alabama A&M.
