Texas Southern vs. Alcorn State

Houston, Texas - Quarterback Adam Lamb ran two touchdowns and Waymon Steed had 133 yards rushing to lead Texas Southern to a 16-13 win over Alcorn State on Saturday. Lamb scored on a 15-yard run with 6:17 remaining in the third quarter to give Texas Southern (6-0, 4-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) a 16-0 lead. He had 85 yards rushing and was 14-for-31 passing for 106 yards.

Alcorn State (0-6, 0-3) trailed 9-0 at the half. The Braves had three interceptions in the second half. Alcorn State stopped Texas Southern from converting the turnovers to scores and got a score of its own, a 55-yard TD pass from Damion Ford to Donald Gilmore with 10:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. Later in the fourth, Alcorn State drove the ball inside Texas Southern's 5-yard line.

The Braves scored a couple of plays later on an 8-yard pass from Ford to Kris Peters with 51 seconds left to cut the lead to 16-13. Alcorn State went for an onside kick, but Texas Southern recovered the ball and ran out the clock.
