Our Big Aunty

Born and brought up in the largest railway colony at khargpur now in south eastern railway, I did my matriculation (S.S.C) and intermediate in arts followed by B.A. from agra university. i had my schooling upto class 6 only as there were no high school for girls.my parents with their foresight , encouraged me to do my matriculation privately.I did my inter in the local college and again pursued my B.A. privately from Agra University.My mother being an ardent admirer of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore,I had the good fortune of doing my teacher’s training Bachelor of Teaching (B.T.) from Shantiniketan i.e.Viva Bharathi University.the day I joined the school as a student, I was thrilled to use the piece of chalk and decided that I would like to be a teacher and here I am today !

I worked as a teacher in the Railway Girl’s School for 6 years and switched over to the Railway mixed Higher Secondary School (English Medium) after going through the Railway Service Commission, I became the Vice-Principal in 1964.

My husband’s job brought to Warangal in 1972,seeing the dearth of a good pre-primary school,my husband encouraged me to open the Tiny Tots Nursery & kindergarten.A strong building requires a strong foundation as well.Hence we felt that the need of the hour was a good pre-primary which will lay a solid foundation for formal schooling and would also be a home away from home.After a five year research, this institution was established in 1977.

Our aim was education to be imparted with Love, Affection and Care with a Smile to play the Game of Life.Today the school is 40 years old and whether I have been successful in achieving the ambition of moulding future citizens to play the game of life with a capital ‘G ’ is for my thousands of children to vouch for the same.

Now my only ambition in life is to breathe my last when I am in the classroom among my darling children ! May God help Me !
