1959 TR3A
Homeward
August 14, 2001 was the day we finally got the call to come and get it. The finish looks just great... can't wait to get it back in driving condition.
When the car went in for the work I never expected it would be sitting for more than a year.  Though we drove it in with the engine hot-wired, for the trip home we opted for a flat-bed so it could be started up with a careful procedure.
Following it north on 6th avenue it occurred to me that in 20 years of driving the TR3 this was it's first trip "on the hook" -- or more accurately "on the bed".
Home at last about 4:00 p.m.  August 15th was the official "Ratchet Reset Day" as we began the process of reassembly.  Mystery Oil in the cylinders, gas drained and replenished and points re-gapped... and it started right up with that old familiar exhaust note.
