| August 14, 2001 was the day we finally got the call to come and get it. The finish looks just great... can't wait to get it back in driving condition. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| When the car went in for the work I never expected it would be sitting for more than a year. Though we drove it in with the engine hot-wired, for the trip home we opted for a flat-bed so it could be started up with a careful procedure. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Following it north on 6th avenue it occurred to me that in 20 years of driving the TR3 this was it's first trip "on the hook" -- or more accurately "on the bed". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Home at last about 4:00 p.m. August 15th was the official "Ratchet Reset Day" as we began the process of reassembly. Mystery Oil in the cylinders, gas drained and replenished and points re-gapped... and it started right up with that old familiar exhaust note. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
