WELCOME TO THE TUCSON ALUMNAE CHAPTER WEBSIGHT

Our chapter includes alumnae from the greater Tucson area as well as communities in Southern Arizona from Green Valley, Sahuarita, Benson, Sierra Vista, Nogales and Douglas, SaddleBrooke -500+ of us, to be exact!

We enjoy a variety of programming:  social, philanthropic and personal development.  We meet monthly from September to May.  Please refer to the calendar to learn about this year’s upcoming events.  We would love to see you at any meeting.  You can count on a DG sister to pick you up or meet you and introduce you to others.  Please join us!

A roster of area members is available on e-mail and given to dues paying members.  Please contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you.

COLLUMNAE INVOLVEMENT

The Tucson alumnae chapter supports the Alpha Pi chapter at the University of Arizona in a number of ways.  Alumnae make up the advisory team and help with recruitment or just lend a helping hand when needed.  Several collegiate/alumnae events are held each year.  Alumnae sit on the House Corporation board  which maintains the Alpha Pi chapter house.  Alumnae interested in working with collegians on either House Corporation or the Advisory Management Team are always needed and welcomed with open arms.

FOUNDATION

Alumnae fundraising projects take place all during the year.  Snack baskets and birthday cakes are ordered by parents and alumnae do the baking and delivering to the Alpha Pi House.  This is by far our most successful fundraiser.  We also sell flowers (geraniums this year).   What we do is have fun while we earn money!  Who can ask for more than that!  This past year we raised $3700 for Foundation which included our annual $$ scholarship for an Alpha Pi collegian.

Locally, we support Sunsounds Radio Reading Service for the Blind, Southern Arizona Association for the Visually Impaired and PAWS for a Cause.

Through our Service for Sight Project, we collect Campbell Soup Labels and General Mills Box Tops for our local Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind, and used eyeglasses for Eyes For The Needy.

COMMUNICATION

Look for our DG Roadrunner newsletter in September and again in January to fill you in on what is happening locally.  A calendar of events is always included!  All members receive the newsletter regardless of their status.

E-vites and reminder cards for meetings and special events are sent out regularly to remind members of upcoming events.  A “Sister Chauffeur “ program is in place for those who would like a ride to meetings, and those who are willing to be the drivers.  It is always a pleasure to share with our DG sisters.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Total  Alumnae dues are $40.50 per year for all members who have been Delta Gammas for less than 50 years.

Members who are in their 51st year and beyond need only pay $20.50.

Executive Offices are now sending bills for per-capita dues.  Tucson dues  are billed locally. Your local dues pay for directories, newsletters and other administrative costs.  A really good deal!
