Friends from the New World |
Bob, or Bobita or Mihail is my closest college bud. We're both from Romania and started our Stanford experiences in the same year. Bob is a kind, bright and adventurous guy, crazy about girls and as willing to party and have fun as much as I do. Here we are in Mexic, on our Spring break, the best trip I have ever taken so far. On the right, Bob is testing the waters in the desert, hoping to find solid ground for our car to go through. See what happened below. Bob is now in New York City and works for an investment bank. I visit him there. He is marrying Eva, an amazingly sweet and beautiful girl from Stanford. |
Never take a Honda through a Mexican desert. It will NOT make it! That was one of the hard lessons of life our '98 spring break tought us. We were desperately trying to push the car out of the water, and it was not looking good. Thank God some older couples driving Jeeps got us out of that mess or we would have been dinner for the coyotes. |
Phuong was my sophomore year roommate and more than that. We went through very tough times together, but we survived. He is now studying to be a doctor in PA. He also has a masters in English from Stanford. |
Yes, I did drag once, and here it is! Im the "lady" in blue, surrounded by my dormmates at Stanford. I had killer boobs, and a beautiful posture. It's so hard to be a woman! |
Do I LOVE to dance? To death! Swing is definitely my favourite, and then Tango, but I also do salsa and merengue. Over the years I had some amazing dance partners, but at Stanford they were the cream of the crop. I went with Erin (left) to my first Viennese Ball at Stanford, and competed with Kris (lower middle) at my fifth (and even won something!). I dance everywhere, including the desert (right with Lindsay) and my parents house (middle with Ana Catrina). Thank you beautiful ladies for a wonderful time. |
There were many Romanian students at Stanford and we used to hang out a lot. Here is Easter 99, at my parents house. We had just returned from Church after midnight mass and were devouring my grandma's food. From left to right: Andrei Bernevig (physics genious), Ruxandra (one of my best friends), Ana Catrina (princess of Romania, and one of the most original people I have ever met), and Andrei Stamatian (my cousin who also went to SU). |
