Question 5 (Hinged Turtles)


    5A:
      Turtle has weakly webbed feet, smooth black shell with tiny yellow speckles. Bottom of chin bright yellow.

    5B:
      Feet rough and scaly, not webbed. Bottom of shell has one movable hinge, turtle can withdraw completely into shell (but often doesn't). Turtle may be found long distances from water.

      Turtle has webbed feet, pointed snout. Shell may be keeled, especially in babies. Bottom of shell has one hinge that may be hard to discern. Lower shell too small to cover feet.
