Wong Hei
I remember that I first saw him in Nothing To Declare's trailer. My first impression about him was his eyes but I thought to myself that this guy was so cute but still I didn't like him yet. Then I rented
Nothing To Declare but somehow I still didn't like him. His acting was good since his first TVB series, so I thought maybe he acted somewhere before he entered TVB...I don't really know. Then I saw him in Food of Love and his character was way cute.
But the series that he really made me like him was Burning Flame where he made me feel that he's one of the best actors in TVB. But I think he didn't act in TVB series much lately. He started to act more in movies and began his singing career.
My comment
I like him. His acting is good and his smile is just something I really like. Wong Hei gave me the feeling that he's a funny, playful, outgoing kind of guy but can be serious at times.
I want him to appear more in TVB series. Anyway, I hope he can make it in movie world. I didn't watch any of his movies yet. His singing is pretty nice, too. I only heard him sing A Matter of Custom subtheme, though.
His most memorable role: Lok Tin Yau, from Burning Flame
Strengthes: Great acting, cute, quite versatile.
Weeknesses: I don't really know. I guess some people might say his eyes are small and think that he's not that good looking. But then again, I think some ppl might think that his eyes
are something that made him even cuter :) maybe right now I guess what he really need is a chance to reach broader audience. Other than this I think some good luck might help.
His TV series
- Nothing To Declare
Co-star with Bobby AuYeung. Wong Hei acted as a cop and he had to go undercover in later part of the show. His acting was good. The storyline was ok.
Anyway, I don't think he and Helina Tam were so compatible as a couple.
- Food of Love [Highly Recommended]
He acted as OK Tak, a simple kind of guy who dreamed of being a chef. He got two best friends, Marco Ngai and Eddie Cheung. His dream girl was Kenix Kwok but there was also Fennie Yuen, a girl who grew up together with him.
Now this series is very cute and it's fun to watch, too. I think Wong Hei's fans would love it.
- Deadly Protection
His character worked as a cop in WPU(Witness Protection Unit) He's quite a hot-headed type and always got into fight with his teammate, Marco Ngai.
He paired up with Gigi Fu in this one. Personally, I really like seeing Hei acted with Marco Ngai because I think they got lots of chemistry as good friends that always teasing/fighting with each other. The series itself was entertaining, too.
- A Tough Side of a Lady
Maybe you can call this series, Mulan...but its storyline wasn't like Disney's Mulan. Here, Marianne Chan acted as Mulan, a girl who disguised herself and went into some kind of boot camp. Hei was also a soldier there and they didn't get along at first.
Anyway, after some time Hei started to like her and helped her a lot. This series is nice to watch but the last episode was kind of messy and weird.
- Burning Flame[Highly Recommended]
This is definitely a MUST-SEE for every TVB fans. Wong Hei definitely at his top form here. Tin Yau was a great character and Wong Hei did a great job in BF. He managed to bring Tin Yau to life. He was so good in many emotional scenes and sometimes he could be very funny, too.
The story was something classic. For me, it's almost comparable to Police Cadet.
- Side Beat
Now this is something quite disappointing. His character was nothing special and it didn't give him much chance to show his acting ability. The storyline was quite boring. And personally, I felt that he and Flora didn't look so compatible.
- A Matter of Custom
Well, it could have been a better series if they cut Lisa Wong and Danny Lee's screen time. Because I found that Wong Hei
and Jessica's story is much more interesting. Here, Wong Hei acted as a cop who was kind of serious about everything, but when you got to know him he was such a sweet guy, too.
Anyway, things got complicate when he had to go undercover...
