[Interior, day. Medium straight-on shot of EXECUTIVE at his desk, on the phone. He speaks remarkably fast. A clock on his desk faces us: (has big digits that say 10:30). His white coffee mug has a big "JIM" on it. Behind him is a lot of equipment, including two video monitors, cabinets, a map of the world. A harried male ASSISTANT is rushing alertly back there doing various things, breathless.]

EXECUTIVE
[rapid-talking] Hi Gene, how's the wife, how's the kids, how's the weather? How about those Yankees? I just got the proposal. I think the perfect way to proceed at this point 10:30 a.m. would be for me to have my assistant duplicate it, collate it, translate it, telegraph it, reciprocate it, reiterate it, and expurgate it. Then I think with all due haste my assistant should type with a word processor, index it, file it, cross-reference it, computerize it, and make sure that every man, woman and child in the United States gets a copy. After that I think we should run with it, move forward with it, make the big move with it, hit the streets with it, put everything we've got into it-- [There'd started a brief medium-shot of the ASSISTANT typing frantically at the adding machine.]

NARRATOR
Shipping Company now schedules delivery by 10:30 a.m.

[Medium-shot of EXECUTIVE, still rapid-talking on the phone, ASSISTANT in background, up urgently doing something else.]

EXECUTIVE
--the same tune with it, march on the same sstreet with it, make sure that ...

[Shot is moving away a little, the ASSISTANT is facing us in the background and is so rushed he resembles a speed skater.]

NARRATOR
It's incredible what you can do with that much extra time--

EXECUTIVE
I can have my assistant translate it in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Polish, Portuguese, Rumanian, Hungarian, Dutch, German, Chinese--Swahili--

[White text has been superimposed over bottom half of screen: "SHIPPING COMPANY/Now by 10:30 A.M." Small white superimposed text at very bottom of screen says, "Areas served, delivery times, and liablity subject to/limitations in our Service Guide."]

[time 00:30]
