The Shott began his wrestling career almost by mistake. Originally a part of the TJS shows in 1998, he left in August to go live in Saudi Arabia with his family for 2 years, as his father worked for British Aerospace. So, when he returned to Wales in September 2000, he met up with his best friend Marz. The two discussed many things, and it so happened that The Shott was very interested in wrestling. Marz, who was high-up in the TWF Management at the time, just prior to his chairman-ship, gave The Shott a try out match at BCW. Against? Mr. BIG. The Shott worked a great match and was offered a TWF contract.
He entered when The Green Meanie and A-Pac (now known as The Terminator and The AshTaker) formed Darkness' Rising. He was called 'Underfire'...of course, this was the period where the TWF's every move mimmicked the WW[F/E]. Of course, when Marz became chairman in late 2000, The Shott recieved a massive push, that lead many to believe that a backstage war was developing between Biggie's buddies (NJS, Frekishi, AshTaker) and Marz's (Shott, Hawke, High Voltage). In later documentaries, this was viciously proved to be true.
Ben recieved a new name and a new attitude...'No FeaR'. He only made on appearance as this character, and that was to team with Mr. BIG in a BCW show. Hence, many refer to this as 'Team No FeaR'. Later, it was revealed that he had been wrestling for TECW. The Shott was a major thorn in the TWF's side when the war was taking place. Of course, he don't need to know the outcome. (But if you do...the TWF eventually defeated TECW, later NCW in the war, when in June 2002, NCW declaired bankruptcy). The Shott was also a part of the RWF's re-birth in 2003 as the co-owner, but a dreadfully booked angle between him and High Voltage led to tension and The Shott was kicked out, and his stake given to the xWa. In August 2004, rumours began that the xWa was intrested in selling it's stake in the defunct promotion to...The Shott.
The Shott has a long list of achievements, although many would argue that all but one was down to Marz. That one? His third TWF World Championship reign, which many say was among the best of 2003. The Shott left the TWF on April 9th 2004, saying that "I've waited my whole life to start a family, and now I finally feel that having accomplished all I want to in wrestling, I can do that now. I've enjoyed my time in this business, and I've regretted not a single minute." Since then, rumours have cropped up that The Shott would return, but none of these have proven to be true. He has a bouncing baby son through his girlfriend, Cameron; and is frequenly seen with Mr. BIG (who lives in a neighbourhood a minute's drive away) on Broadlands in their fast Italian cars. After his departure, many were asking the same question that was asked after Marz left - Will he ever come back?
At Summer Break V, the question was answered. The Assassin shocked AJ Jeffers & Hawke by introducing us to his partner, The Shott, who had made his return to some of the biggest cheers of the evening. The Shott then catapulted himself back into the TWF World Championship picture by winning the 2004 King of the Ring match at Eve of Destruction. He faced off against Frekishi and Hawke at xWa Xtreme Intentions that October, and due to the decision (where he was not pinned), he was automatically granted a match with Frekishi at Halloween Hell. The two fought a hellacious battle, but, Shott ended up on the losing decision. The Shott then built up a persona showing a side of him we have not seen in years. He turned on the fans and the desire of becoming TWF World Champion began to eat him up inside. His next chance at the gold came at PayBack, where he again came out with the wrong side of the decision against the then champion, Mastermind. Now that The Shott has returned, it will only be a matter of time before he becomes a champion once more.
