Minutes after Onslaught's defeat, the streets were crammed with crowds of police, firemen, Swat & Shield Agents. Sires wailed, helicopters & ambulances arrived to tend to the wounded.

Jason & Michelle werepushing their way through the sea of humanity. Jason's woundwas re-opening and the webbing was nearly gone.

"Just hold on tough guy, I'm going get you to a hospital." Michelle said. Jason smiled weakily & nodded. Their cr would get him to the hospital in a few short minutes but it was still back at the hotel in Texas.

Things were not looking good when he began to stagger, the pain & loss of blood were nearl causing him to black out. Just then a voice came from behind, "How about a helping hand son? You look like you could use it." It was Agent Fury clearing a way through the crowd.

Michelle's face lit up with new hope. "Yes, please, I think he's hurt seriously."

"Don't worry miss, we'll get him patched up in no time.", Fury assured her. Then he signaled to a SHIELD medic. "Get this man into the Helicarrier stat! Get him stitched up before he bleeds to death!" He nodded andthey began helpng Jason aboard.

Jason shaking, stood up & kissed Michelle right before his vision blurred & he blacked out.

Later he awoke on a hospital bed. It smelled like antiseptic chemicals. *Where am I?*, he thought.

He tried to sit up & pain like a sledge hammer hit his side. "Oh yeah...now I remember." Gently, he turned to his side, it was bandaged & heavily taped.

A nurse walked in, "Wow you awake already? Hope you're feeling better.", she aid.

"ell after getting ripped open by a giant bat & slammed by Onslaught just about anything fells good right now. So how bad did they get me?"

"Well," she picked up his chart, " stitches, bruised & slightly cracked ribs and a mild concussion. Better take it easy for a few days, maybe weeks."

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." Jason answered. "Is Michelle here?"

"Oh yeah, I'll send her right in." The nurse said, then left.

Michelle walked in & sat down beside him. "Feeling better tiger?", she smiled.

"Yeah, now that you're here." He kissed her gently.

"Ahem!" The nurse come back in. "Take it easy on the boy gal.", she winked. "You're clear to go, where do you want dropped off?, she asked.

Jason &Michelle looked at each other, then at the nurse. "ell," Jason spoke, "Victoria, Texas too far away?"

The nurse shook er head and smiled. "I'll go tell the pilot and he can clear it with the higher-ups. But you better have change for the toll booths.", she smiled, leaving again.

Shortly later, the massive Helicarrier landed, it was difficult to find parking in the small town. They managed to land near the motel where they left the car. Director Fury personally saw them to the door.

"It was nice working with you sir. Now that Onslaught is gone maybe thins will stay quiet." Jason said shaking Fury's hand.

Michelle went insiade and gathered their stuff. "This will only take a sec, sugah. Then we can finish our vacation."

He handed Jason a communicator. "Here, if you ever need a hand use this, we'll be there."

Michelle walked out & tossed their bags in the trunk and got in the car. "Ready to go. See you around Fury.", she smiled.

Just then a SHIELD agent came running out of the helicarrier. "DIRECTOR FURY SIR! Some kind of alien just hit Central Park and it's not in a good mood!"

Fury seemed to erupt. "Great! Just great. Get rid of one vermin and you get another one. They're like damn cockroaches!"

He stomped aboard the Helicarrier. "Sorry Dallas, gotta fly."

"Fury!", Jason shouted. "Take me along, I want a shot at that thing. Michelle...", Jason started to speak to her but she cut him off.

"I don't like you runing off and jumping into danger, but I understand that's what you do. Just be careful and come back to me, ok?" Then she kissed him.

Ok, but I have to ask you something first. I know this isn't the best time or place, but..." He reached in his pocket and kneeled down. "I love you Michelle, will you marry me?"

She began crying tears of joy & hugged him tight. "Yes. Yes I will." He slid the ring on her finger.

"Dallas! I really hate to break up this Kodak moment but we have some tail to kick!", Fury shouted.

"Right!", he yelled back. They got in the car and started it, when a beam lifted them and the car into the Helicarrier.

"Faster this way kid.", Fury said. "Full throttle!"

"Yes sir!", a pilot answered.

"Michelle," Jason said, "As soon as this is over we're finishing our vacation. He smiled and kissed her.

"Sounds good to me tiger.", she replied.
