Cadet O-Flight

1. FWSS provides aerospace education to many
    eager girls & boys every year on Cadet
    Orientation Flights.  For many, this is a first flight
    experience - and for some, the spark for a
    career serving in civil or military aviation.

2. SlowScan TV exercise with Tarrant Co Dept of
    Emergency Mgmt - CAP 1Lt Glenn Thompson
    & LtCol Dan Logue.  This type of mission, flown
    by a New York squadron, provided the first
    aerial damage assessment photos of the
    World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

3. Fire watch missions provide airborne alerts to
    the US Forestry Dept to help reduce property
    damage. This flight plan covered a large area
    between Fort Worth & Wichita Falls.

4. Airborne disaster assessments help local
   emergency organizations respond quickly with
   needed equipment, such as the seasonal
   twisters and floods that have damaged Texas
   property & endangered many lives.

5. Emergency Services missions include airborne
    search for downed aircraft & their occupants as
    directed by AFRCC, and once found, orbiting
    the site to guide emergency personnel to the
    aircraft's location to aid the injured as quickly as
    possible, however remote.

6. Special missions, such as the Columbia Shuttle
    Debris Search, have also utilized all of FWSS
    extensive aerial search experience in assisting
    national and local disaster response teams.
