Experience

Research Assistant
August 1999 - May 2001. University of South Florida. Tampa. Florida.
  • Coupled a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with a saturated-unsaturated model (HYDRUS 2D) to simulate infiltration-runoff processes on complex topographic domains.
  • Developed an infiltration-excess model using the Green and Ampt approach with redistribution of the water content to approximate the solution of Richard's equation.
  • Created a rainfall model to convert actual continuous data to 1-minute rainfall data. Statistic analysis of rainfall data.

Summer Internship, Young Educators Program Fellowship
June 2000 –August 2000. Center for the Advancement of Hispanics in Science and Engineering Education (CAHSEE), Washington, D.C.
  • Instructor for the Vector-Based Analytical Geometry summer course at City University of New York. Responsible for planning, teaching, and grading the class of 20 gifted senior high school students.

  • Worked on the Stormwater Management Master Plan (SMMP) in the modeling team for the county.
  • Generated, reviewed, and updated AutoCAD graphics and diagrams for the SMMP final reports based on U.S. EPA EXTRAN model result.
  • Produced existing conditions level of service for the Lower Sweet Water Creek Basin, which involved basin delination

Assistant Engineer

  • Designed and supervised public works in the area of road maintenance including drainage structures, roadside filters, and concrete and gabions retaining walls.
