Sarnia, ON

08/13/2006
Having skipped the previous weekend's National SuperMoto round in Meccaglisse - in order to do some road-racing practice at Shannonville - Mississauga's Adam Jabouri was back in SuperMoto form at Sarnia's Festival of Horsepower.

This hugely popular festival includes mini-motocross, Dirt Track, and culminates with SuperMoto on Sunday.  Several top U.S. teams made the short trip across the border to make this a very packed field.

Jabouri, 14, had an exhausting day as he entered 3 classes:  SM2 on his Kawasaki KX250F, SM1, and Open on his KX450F.  Fresh from his SM2 victory at Trois Rivieres, Jabouri qualified on pole position in SM2, and second in both SM1 and Open classes.

The finals started out with the SM1 class, and Jabouri ended up in a race long battle with several riders vying for the lead.  A last lap move to pass ex-motocrosser Kenny Bland resulted in a low side crash for Jabouri, who immediately re-mounted, but couldn't get his 450 re-started.  Exhausted from trying to kick-start his bike, Adam had to immediately jump on his 250 for the SM2 race.

After again getting the hole shot, Jabouri managed his lead and went on to lead wire to wire and win the SM2 race!  "Thanks to Steve Beattie Racing for putting on this event,  The track was great!  It's nice to be winning again after I got hurt last year."

After a short break, Adam jumped back on his 450 for the open class.  A poor start had him fall back to 5th place.  After some fierce battles, he finished in 3rd place.

For Team Jabouri Racing (TJR), this busy schedule netted a 1st, a 3rd, and a DNF.  Some more testing on road courses is scheduled before the team's next SuperMoto race at Pennsylvania's Beaverun circuit.  This will be a double header NASMOTO event held on the Labour Day long weekend.
