Fixed Wing Ultralight Gallery

This is where I started flying ultralight aircraft. Atlantic Ultralights was located between Smithfield and Suffolk, VA. They originally sold weight shift Eagles and finally the 3 axis Eagle XL, one of which I became a proud owner.

One of the most striking of all ultralight type aircraft on the market. The Mitchell Wing cruises at 58mph at 75% power on a 23hp engine. I am currently building a "Wing" at the factory in Winterset, Iowa.

Mitchell Wings are capable of soaring engine off, with a 16:1 glide ratio and a 240 fpm sink rate.

Another great ultralight design. This one is a 1983 Tierra manufacuted by a company named Teratorn. The design is now known as a T-Bird. I flew this one for almost three years.
Notice all of the triangulation. This is one strong flying machine.

One of the classic ultralights, a Pterodactyl. This one owned and built by my friend Paul. The canard on this Dactyl is more like the one found on Eagles manufactured By American Aerolights.

Pterodactyl's draw a crowd wherever they land.
