Case File #1Y2 - 1013: Dawson Creek Kids

Part I

FIELD REPORTS AND COMMUNIQUÉ RELATING TO Y FILE CASE # 1013

AS PROVIDED BY SA KIWIPHILE.

DATED: 01/20/00

SUMMARY:

This case began with a seemingly routine memo from our new SAC, briefing us on the nature of our office, and asking interested agents to contact her directly regarding our availability.

In order to preserve the line of investigation I have included memos, reports, telexes and other assorted communications in their original formats. Where necessary I have transcribed from journals and interviews, the experiences of field agents as they occurred.

In an attempt to keep the time-line of the investigation understandable, I have inserted sections of these journals and transcripts AT THE TIME THEY OCCURRED.

Occasionally they may relate to matters outside the events in Capeside, but I have included them as points of interest to the running of our department. (Spelling mistakes are the original author’s own.)

This report is held in the broom closet of the Y Files office only, as it was deemed “unacceptably florid, and to contain large segments of unfounded speculation” by the Directors of FBI Headquarters.

ATTENTION SPECIAL AGENTS!

The following is the first in a series of cases that have been designated “Y-Files”. Special Agents Fox William Mulder & Dana Katherine Scully have referred these cases to us via the office of Assistant Director Walter Sergei Skinner. These are X-File cases that Agents Mulder & Scully have not been able to investigate due to time constraints or other extenuating circumstances. Agents who are interested in participating in this investigation should post a message stating that they are en route to Dawson's Creek where they will rendezvous with their fellow agents to begin the investigation. Please report in regularly.

Sincerely,

SAC Jadzia

CASE #Y1013 - DAWSON'S CREEK KIDS

Several months ago, one Tamara Jacobs contacted Agent Mulder, a former high school English teacher in a small town called Dawson's Creek. She informed Agt. Mulder that the FBI might want to initiate an investigation of the teenagers in Dawson's Creek. According to Miss Jacobs, the teens of Dawson's Creek “have the most extensive vocabularies of any people [she has] ever met,” and “they use an incredible number polysyllabic words that most teenagers would never dream of using”. Miss Jacobs named high school seniors Dawson Leery, Josephine Potter (Joey), Jennifer Lindley (Jen), Pacey Whitter, Andrea McPhee (Andie) and Jack McPhee as the students who most often demonstrated this strange characteristic.

Agent Mulder suspects that the Consortium is using the quiet community of Dawson's Creek to field-test the products of a long-running genetic experiment. Miss Jacobs's reports of the student's unusual vocabularies reminded Agent Mulder of the Eve clones (Cindy Reardon & Teena Simmons) that he and Scully encountered almost seven years ago.

Your assignment, Agents, is to investigate this case and determine what, if anything is going on in Dawson's Creek. Please keep us informed as your investigation progresses.

SAC Jadzia,

While I would love to tackle this one, I must confess...I have never seen Dawson's Creek. However, from what I've heard, I can't wait to see someone launch an investigation into this case.

I've never seen it either. But if anything were to make me watch it, it would be this case. So I guess I'll start doing a little background research before I begin investigating. Who's going to help me?

SAC Sara,

I'll be happy to assist, and I'm assuming that I can do a little research of my own. You guys will have to forgive me, though, if I don't get all of the characters quite into their ‘Dawson's Creek’ characterizations right off the bat, though.

I, my friend, am an avid watcher of this teen-angst show, and I would be happy to assist in this investigation. First of all, I think that we should investigate this character -Dawson Leery. His files say that he may have been involved in the death of Abby, a drowning victim, another of our suspicious characters - Jen Lindley, accused him. Dawson Leery lives with his father and has a tepid relationship with his best friend, Joey potter. After speaking to the two, I have discovered that, yes; they do have an overly extensive vocabulary for adolescents who only seem to watch television. Agent Mulder has theorised that this is the work of aliens working in collaboration with the syndicate, doing genetic experiments in the small town of Capeside. Agent Scully and I think that this is impossible, but agent Mulder is set in his ways ~ as he always is.

Re the *Dawson's Creek Kids* case:

I have started some routine investigation. Spec. Agent Keila & I arrived there and I had to spend the entire first day throwing sticks in to the 'creek’ for Agent Keila to retrieve.

(There are some drawbacks to having a partner that drools a lot and never gets bored with the same repetitive game). After daydreaming about arranging for Agent Willmore to meet me, I met some of these so-called 'teenagers'. (The dog is a great icebreaker).

My preliminary enquiry has left me with one major question:

Where is Andy McPhee's Dad? Her mother is unusually highly strung; she keeps seeing her dead son. And Jack McPhee is certainly too cool for words. (Although like the others, he uses plenty of big ones).

I searched the house while they were all at some community clambake, and found a single Morley butt in the living room. Impossible to tell how long it's been there, but I am sending in a sample of Andy's medication for analysis. I am sensing a cover-up here.

And as for Joey's dad, one minute the man's in prison, then suddenly he's out. Early. Have to keep an eye on this one, the restaurant he owns gets a lot of fish delivered, in big metal boxes.

I have yet to befriend Dawson. He's scared of dogs and is upset about Abby's death. (Even though he didn't like her)

I have the coroner's report here, but from what I can tell she drowned. Jen however, told me that she was hit on the back of her head AT THE BASE, before she fell in the water. I may have to pay a visit to the coroner's office to check for green goo.

Only one other thing to report, which is the unusually low number of normal looking people. I swear it; one pimple or an extra gram of fatty tissue would lead the local news. I had to leave for a while because I started to have a bad feeling that I was in a Coca-Cola advertisement. If you see me playing volleyball and smiling too much, please slap me!

:) Kiwiphile

SACs Samantha and Sara! Glad to see you guys are on the case . . . it may not be an easy one. In my neck of the woods, Dawson's airs on the WB on Wednesday nights at 9PM, I think. I also believe there are websites for it as well -- it might help with some of the research.

Thank you for joining us, Special Agent Puritycontrol. I like your proactive style. Agents' Mulder and Scully are available for consults during this case, of course, but will be unable to join you at Dawson's Creek due to their pressing caseload. But that is why The Y-Files were created -- to handle the cases that Mulder and Scully were unable to investigate. :) Your expertise will be invaluable on this case and I look forward to hearing how the investigation proceeds.

Best regards,

SAC Jadzia :)

After reading your initial report, I have to say that I think I might reconsider accepting this Y-File. Dawson's Creek just seems much too scary for me. So I think I'll stay a good distance away from it. However, I will be happy to offer theories from a safe distance away.

Perhaps they have found some means not to age? And they must cover it up so that the whole world doesn't get hold of this technology, thereby leading to more births and fewer deaths, over-populating the world even more than it already is. Perhaps the US used them as test subjects, and now they must be in hiding so that no foreign governments get this technology. Is it only their large vocabulary, or do they seem overly mature in other respects, as well? And how is it that they are all beautiful people? Perhaps they are genetically engineered human beings?? Please tell me if any of these theories can be substantiated with evidence. I'll throw out some more if none of these turn up anything.

It seems that this case is starting to progress slowly but surely. Excellent undercover work Special Agent Kiwiphile -- Keila has become quite a valuable addition to our team. :) (And I love the picture of her that you posted in your profile! :D )

Andy & Jack McPhee's father appears to be the most promising lead at the moment. If one of the team interviews Pacey (and please share this interview with us), I believe that you will be able to confirm that Mr. McPhee is a Caucasian male in his late 40s-early 50s with salt & pepper hair. The preliminary report that I have on him states that Mr. McPhee is supposedly a businessman who does not live in Dawson's Creek. However, his crotchety manner in the past [episodes] and the recent discovery of the Morley butt could indicate ties to the Syndicate.

It sounds like we need a Special Agent to track down Mr. McPhee's whereabouts. We'll need a more in-depth background report on Mr. McPhee along with your surveillance logs. Whichever agent tackles this part of the assignment should use exercise extreme caution. If Mr. McPhee is somehow involved with the Syndicate, you never know who'll show up . . .

We also need an agent to continue investigating within the town. It sounds like we've got a couple more of the teenagers to talk to. It sounds like Joey's family owns a popular restaurant in town. If this town consists of clones or hybrids and is being controlled by the Syndicate, would they use memory-suppressing drugs to keep the town from knowing what it really is? What better way to distribute the drugs than through the local restaurants where everyone goes to eat?

You guys might want to consult with each other to determine who's handling the different parts of the assignment . . . And don't be afraid to be creative -- I mean, careful . . . The Truth Is Out There!

Smiles,

Jadzia :)

I understand your reluctance to enter The Creek Zone. As Mulder has said before, ’It's okay to step away’. Oh, hold on a second, my cell phone's ringing.

‘SAC Jadzia here.’

‘The Litchfield Project produced more than just Adams and Eves, Agent Jadzia’

‘Who is this?’

‘Don't waste my time with irrelevant questions, Agent. Find out what else the Litchfield Project produced. It is key to the current Y-Files investigation.’ -click-

Well, Sara, it seems that Agent Mulder may have been onto something afterall. Would you object to taking the red eye back to DC.? I think that we might want to talk to The Lone Gunmen and see if they can come up with some new information regarding The Litchfield Project. You may have to assist them with some hacking, so pick out something black and sexy and prepare to do some funky poaching . . . -big grin-

Wonder how the mystery caller got my *unlisted* cell phone number . . .

I'm on my way to the airport right now. I'll let you know what my plans are after I get briefed on the previous case that Mulder and Scully investigated. I'll definitely be making a stop by the facility where the Eves are being held. (I think unrestricted access is going to come in handy for some of these cases!)

I'll be sure to get in touch with the other agents in Dawson's Creek about my findings. Hopefully they will be of use. Edited 1/11/00 6:37:20 AM ET by SARAZ

Just to let you know that I'm going to catch some shut-eye now.

I'm still all turned around from the time difference. I'm meeting Pacey later on, I managed to secure his cooperation by pointing out that driving around in his fathers squad car wearing a police jacket pretty much constitutes a federal offence.

Agent Keila has been hanging around the back of the restaurant wearing a tiny digital camera. After my sleep, I'll download the pictures and let you know if those large metal cases are of interest.

Oh, and I'm putting an X on my motel room window.

Hey, say hi to Langley for me. :D

Kiwiphile.

PS as for that other matter, send the picture if you can, I can't promise I'll be any less gimpy with it though. ;)

Re: Y1013 Dawson's Creek Case

It has been brought to my attention that Special Agents Kiwiphile and Keila are interviewing one Pacey Whitter this evening at 1800 hours. I have been in contact with one Mrs. Leery, the mother of the alleged ringleader of this highly polysyllabic band of mischief-makers. Mrs. Leery, still on assignment in Philadelphia, was more than gracious to spend time with me this afternoon. We discussed the early years of her marriage and the seemingly normal conception of her son, Dawson, and her subsequent separation from her husband after fears of infidelity.

>From a late afternoon sweep of the Bureau's datalink system, I have obtained all original birth records and subsequent well-baby checkups for one Dawson Leery. No known allergies, rarely stricken with any normal childhood ailments or illnesses, including chicken pox, mumps, measles, whooping cough or diaper rash. Facial hair has been active since age of 14, and daily shavings have increased twofold. Chest/armpit/legs/reproductive area hair also reported as above normal growth for purported 16-year-old Caucasian male.

Mrs. Leery informed this agent that she does not believe her son has had intimate relations, but that the most likely candidate would be one Josephine Potter, herein known as 'Joey'. Ms. Potter is currently residing with her sister and niece in Cape Side, and Agents are currently surveying her activities.

Early childhood testing in math and language skills show an intelligent quotient in the 145 range, and the parents were instructed to nurture their child's ability to learn more. The subject became interested in filmmaking at an early age, and spends what available time he has indulging in this pastime. Educators and counselors are concerned that his lackadaisical attitude with completing advance placement courses will not gain him acceptance to his chosen colleges of New York University's Film School or UCLA Film School.

This agent has booked a flight for Cape Side to conduct further investigation and conversation with one elder Leery, the father of Dawson, and current varsity football coach at Cape Side High School.

End of Report.

For those who didn't get SAC Jadzia's cell phone number, it's (202)555-...oh, phooey, where did I put your number?

I'll get back to you guys on that. If our Special Agents Purity & Kiwiphile wish to go ahead with the investigation at Dawson's Creek (and I do think Keila should receive Special Agent status as well as a Kevlar doggie vest), I'll catch up with you shortly.

People...my address book is gone! With all my cell phone numbers! And classified addresses of Special Agents, SAC's and everything!

Okay, where did I put it? Don't tell me I misplaced it when I was unpacking in my new apartment????

Upon arrival in the sleepy hamlet of Cape Side, the water taxi directed me that the varsity football team was practicing for the state finals. After my evening meeting with Mr. Leery, at which time I felt the estranged Mrs. Leery was correct in her assumption of infidelity and philandering by her husband as I was mercilessly hit upon by said subject's father.

I ascertained that Mr. Leery was the typical football jock during Dawson's formidable years. When the younger Leery chose not to partake in the family sport of roughhousing and gridirons, Mr. Leery all but abandoned his son's athletic capabilities. Mr. Leery informed me that his son began commiserating with a group of preteens, the same group that as teenagers are currently under investigation by various Special Agents in place in Cape Side.

After dinner and cocktails with Mr. Leery, I conclude my findings as follows: Neither Mr. or Mrs. Leery in any way, shape, fashion or form would have had the type of influence needed to propel this young man into the use of polysyllabic terms and phrases by themselves. Various educators may be in part to blame, and the reporting teacher, Mrs. Jacobs, should be high on the list of suspected conspirators.

Following the evening rest at the Comity Inn, I shall continue my background search on one Mrs. Jacobs at Cape Side Sheriffs Department. Will utilize NCIC and other Bureau database to corroborate any findings.

This agent has retired for the evening, and looks forward to a nightcap in the lounge and a relaxing moonlight cruise through the backwaters of Cape Side.

All other agents wishing to share information can reach me in room 42, next to the soft drink machine that is not plugged in but the front is lit.

My Dear Jadzia: Thank you so much for entrusting me with a role in the Dawson's Creek Case. Your faith in my fledgling investigative abilities is overwhelmingly gratifying. However, due to an unfortunate exposure to a common eye ailment(common among teachers and day-care workers), and due to the fact that I've never actually seen Dawson's Creek, I must decline your offer. However, I have been reviewing the field reports thus far and may I say GOOD JOB everyone! Reporting on The Dawson's Creek Y file.

I had a really good nap at the Comity, I saw a couple of other agents arrive, but as I am out of synch jet-lag wise, I have left them a note to meet me for dinner at the Potter's restaurant. I downloaded some pics from SA Keila's camera. (By the way, the doggie vest arrived...very stylish. No good for undercover work of course, but should come in handy in the event of a full-scale showdown, thanx fellow agents).

The pics were very interesting. Those metal cases are huge, as is the coolstore at the back of the restaurant. I spoke to one of the local crayfisherman, who said that fish-stocks were declining....sound familiar? He seemed unconcerned though.

One thing I did get was a van plate number. 834 OAQ. Can you run it for me? I never saw a fish company that delivered in brand new black vans before, at night, with men in trench coats. I've gotta go meet Pacey now, I'll file another report before bedtime.

:) Kiwiphile & Keila the dog

Oh I almost forgot, MSSaganFan & Purity, do you wan to meet at the restaurant later? I think we should go over a cover story for ourselves. I booked for 8:30 under the name of Skinner.

I have fed-exed a report to Agent Willmore, asking him to join us here, I hope he gets clearance - there's an empty room adjoining mine at the Comity. (Not that I intend to behave in any way unprofessionally, honest) ;)Edited 1/12/00 12:49:30 AM ET by IMALONEEdited 1/12/00 12:53:26 AM ET by IMALONE

Good work on your reports and findings so far. The database shows that the license plate number simply 'does not exist', but since you saw it, we know that it does. Obviously a bogus plate, but why?

And I called ahead to order a rush analysis on the tissue samples that you're sending. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to keep the receipts for any doggie biscuits that you buy for Special Agent Keila. That is a bona fide agent's per diem cost as long as it's documented.

After receiving your message, I immediately did some digging into the old Eve casefile. I decided to see if perhaps any leads were overlooked, but from reading the file, everything seemed more or less in order.

I decided to head over to the Whiting Institute regardless, so that I might interview Eve 6. They told me that she didn't like the light, and that no one besides her doctor even knew what she looked like. I, of course, had viewed some video footage of Sally Kendrick, aka Eve 7, so I already knew what she looked like. Let's just say it was a shock to see, as I was arriving, that Eve 6 had apparently escaped by stealing a labcoat and posing as a doctor. After seeing her speed out of the parking garage, I immediately dialed up SAC Samantha, whose cell phone must have been somewhere even more bizarre than a train car buried in the side of a mountain. I wonder what she was up to... I then raced to Eve 6's cell, all the while shouting for backup and that she had escaped. Lo and behold, Eve 6 was in her cell, ranting away. Tina Simmons and Cindy Reardon simply smiled eerily at me.

I asked for a list of all personnel, and wanted to smack someone when I saw the name Ally Sendrick listed. Yes, she was the physician who attended to Eve 6, and later Tina and Cindy. I felt like I was in "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”

I questioned all of the remaining Eves, to try to find out whether or not this last Eve, Eve 8, was Sally Kendrick, or merely took over where Eve 7 left off. I received no clear answers. I also did not find out any more about the Litchfield experiments, though I was led to believe that Eve 8 was very interested in playing not only with intelligence and physique, but with psychosis, for reasons unclear at this time.

By the time I arrived at “Ally Sendrick's” apartment to question her, it had been cleared out of all belongings. There was, however, an ashtray full of Morley butts. I was surprised to find that it was a very extravagant place, much more than a woman on her salary could afford. I can only conclude that someone was funding her to do something. That or she had a sugar daddy, but that idea seemed more than a little implausible.

I then did a little hacking, with help from TLG, as a Dr. Bennett would not provide me with any of his patient's records. I was able to get a partial patient list, and found that a one G. Leery was a patient at the Luther Stapes Center. This was all the info that I was able to obtain at this time. Although I do not know if Sally Kendrick was involved with this patient, it was while she worked at the Center. I also managed to track down a nurse who remembers Mrs. Leery. I had to take the nurse, Rebecca Hawthorne, out for a few drinks to get the full story. Evidently Mr. Leery was not involved in Mrs. Leery's treatment. Why, is not clear, and until I can find further answers, I cannot speculate. I do, however, advise our special agents in MA to exercise extreme caution until we know exactly what these kids are and where they came from. Since they don't seem to exhibit the obvious signs of extreme psychosis, and since they obviously do not look alike, I doubt they are of the same variety of the Eves. But the links between them are too strong to ignore until we have more evidence.

URGENT TELEX

Was forwarded an emergency room outpatient form from Cape Side Medical Center sometime during the night. Seems one Jenn Lindley slipped and lost her balance late yesterday evening, falling an estimated 75 feet from a ladder affixed to the town water tower. Minor bruising, but no broken bones or contusions of any sort. It appears the skin was not broken in any area. X-rays were clear, MRI and CT scans showed no anomalies or internal bleeding. A Dr. Michael Felton signed off on the release form, and Ms. Linley was released to her legal guardian, her maternal grandmother [name omitted from original document].

Although my field of science is not biology, but rather quantum physics, cosmology and magnetic propulsion, I have inquired the hospital for any blood samples that may have been taken from any of the suspects at any time during a hospital stay or treatment in the emergency room. I am thinking possibly the old 'switcheroo' when it comes to blood samples for these kids. If the Consortium had indeed assisted in the genetic engineering of these teens, perhaps in their haste they had not had a chance to secure enough blood, at body temperature, for each subject to 'spare' should an altercation occur where blood would normally be shed. If my reasoning is correct, we should have at least one set of samples by lunch today.

This morning while toasting a bagel in the hotel lobby's continental breakfast area, I overheard two people discussing restaurants with the desk clerk. It seems the couple had been here before a few years back, and wanted to know what happened to the Potter's Wharfside Restaurant. The clerk said that the business owner ran into a bit of a problem and the business has since shut down. It was a pity, really, as the clerk told her story that the owner's daughters were now out of work and their father had been incarcerated. The clerk then directed the couple to a new restaurant in the old train depot.

I spoke with the clerk after the couple left, identified myself, and had a nice chat. It seems Mr. Potter was out on parole last summer, and had fallen back into his ways of illegal narcotics use and transportation. A follow-up with DEA and ATF confirmed this finding. Seems one Dawson Leery had blown the whistle on his then-girlfriend Joey's father just as the restaurant was undergoing refurbishing and looked to be open within a few weeks. The establishment suffered major damage from a fire the same night as the confrontation. Leery pulled Mr. Potter from the flames, where he was later placed in police custody. Parole violation noted, with additional charges of trafficking a known controlled substance, in addition to violating the Maine State laws of having such controlled substance within a 5-mile radius of schoolyards or known areas of children population. Mr. Potter has been sent to the Federal Corrections prison in Lucasville, Ohio, where he is eligible for parole in 2010.

This leads me to my next inquiry. If the Potter's Wharfside Restaurant was burned out and no longer in business, what would be the purpose of seafood delivery to the restaurant? I am leaving now to catch up with my fellow agents in the field. I am still using my old cell phone, so the old number should still work. Please call if you have any information on further blood sample requisition.

Special Agent MSSaganFan,

Again, I must congratulate you on an excellent field report. The questions that it raises are thought provoking and disturbing, and I'm sure you'll follow up on the leads that you have generated so far.

I would be most interested in any blood samples that you can procure. Of course, I cannot tell you to go outside the legal statutes in obtaining these samples, but I'm sure that any evidence you obtain will be according to all the rules and regulations which govern admissibility into a court of law.

There was a slight problem with the tissue samples that were supposed to have been sent to the lab here. The samples never arrived, and we are unable to track any samples being sent from your location. Please check with the local agent who handled this matter for you, and see if there was a delay in this matter.

Oh, and I'm sure I don't have to remind you, but if there is the possibility of illegal narcotics being involved, you might want to check with the DEA to see if they have any pertinent intelligence in this matter.

Keep up the good work.

I have been instructed to inform you that agents of the DOD and NSA are en route to assist your field agents. You are required to give full cooperation to these agents in all matters. Until the joint DOD-NSA agents arrive, you are ordered to cease any further investigations. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the chain of command and will be dealt with appropriately.

It's you again! (shaking an accusatory finger) You and your nefarious plots . . . we'll get to the bottom of this before your cohorts are able to cover up the Truth!

Raising an eyebrow in a most Scully-like manner,

Jadzia :)

PS: Glad to see you've joined us . . . even if it's in an attempt to deceive, inveigle and obfuscate . . . :)

Further to my earlier reports:

You will have noticed that I filed no report yesterday.

Some strange events have occurred in the last 48 hours.

For that reason I have encrypted this report and hidden it in an expense claim for doggie biscuits.

Agent Purity made contact with me, and we were to meet at the Potters Wharfside restaurant for dinner.

Agent MSSaganFan then informed me that the restaurant had burned down and no longer operated. I could not contact Purity so I slipped a message under the door to meet me at the Wharfside behind the shipping containers at 19:00 hours, and proceeded to my interview with Pacey. This young man is hiding the truth, he seemed nervous and unsettled. Constantly checking to see if we were being observed. I managed to reassure him of his safety in working with us. Gradually he relaxed and began to tell me what he knew. It's much worse than we thought. Apparently he has noticed his friends changes in behaviour over the last few months. He kept this to himself, and has been studying night and day to keep up an appearance of equality with him. He traces the changes back to an all night astronomy camp the class was to attend in April 1999.

He was due to go, but an altercation with his older brother prevented him from arriving on time. He described arriving only to see his classmates *disappear in a blinding white light, surrounded by the shadowy figures of men in suits and doctors, I must have fainted or something, I dunno, my head was sore for days*. He awoke the next morning to find his classmates and the teachers' unconscious in the forest, apparently unharmed. When they awoke, they showed no sign of remembering anything unusual, instead reminiscing about a camp that to all intents and purposes, never took place. When he next dated Andy, he was disturbed to see a small scar on the back of her neck that was new. He was about to fill me in on more when my 'phone rang. Agent Willmore is on the case! Willmore told me that he was on his way to the Creek and that he had been tipped off that the NSA was taking over. He instructed me not to return to the hotel and to meet him at *location deleted.

Agent Purity never turned up to our meeting, I do not know where she or MSSagan are, but the Comity is surrounded by Govt. Agents, and there was a strong whiff of Morley smoke in the air. I am hiding out until I meet with Willmore. Agent Keila is with me. I will send more reports when I can, if you hear from the other agents can you give them this trace-proof number *enclosed dat file*, I had a call from some friends in DC who are keeping an eye on things, so try not to worry.

By the way, the ‘fish’ storage area behind Potters appears to have been cleared out. Keep those samples in a safe place.

I also heard that Pacey Whitter was in a boating accident this morning, he listed as missing. We don't have much time.

Trust No one,

end of report.

Special Agent Kiwiphile and Special Agent Keila,

Good thinking to hide your report, otherwise, I am sure it would not have reached me.

Again, I believe you have made progress in your field activities, but apparently this investigation has attracted some -- unexpected -- attention.

While it would be counter to the Bureau's stated policy to interfere with other government agencies, I would suggest that if you don't have to speak with any representatives of other agencies, it would be in your best interests.

I've also heard that an XL doggie sweater might hide SA Keila's Kevlar vest.

At any rate, pursue the investigation for as long as possible, but do not put yourself or other Bureau agents at undue risk. If the NSA and the DOD are involved, I sense a conspiracy which may be above our ability to legally pursue at the moment. I have forwarded your most recent field report to SAC Jadzia for her comments and suggestions.

Take every possible precaution, but see if you can indeed verify that this young man, Pacey, has actually been involved in a boating accident, or if this was possibly a cover-up by -- other interested parties. And see if Special Agents Purity and MSSaganFan can be located. They are not responding to calls on their cell phones.

Contact me once Agent Willmore arrives.

SAC Jadzia,

While I was called back to Washington on urgent business, I had left our Special Agents Purity, MSSaganFan, Kiwiphile and Keila to investigate this case. I am forwarding a copy of all field reports to you.

Please note -- there is indication of involvement by either (or possibly both) agents of the NSA and DOD. SAs Purity and MSSaganFan are not currently responding to their cell phones. One of the key witnesses was reported missing in a boating accident.

SA Willmore is en route to assist, but I am concerned about our agents in the field. Is there something more at Dawson's Creek than meets the eye? Samples that were supposed to have been sent to the FBI field office have yet to arrive. The only secure transmissions from the field to us seem to be those hidden in SA Keila's doggie biscuits.

Your thoughts and comments on this most bizarre case would be appreciated.

Re: Dawson's Creek

Thanks for your support. I gather that since you reading this, you figured out how to unroll the doggie chew that I hid it in. Biscuit stocks are low. I purchased a lovely XL knitted vest for agent Keila and it covers the Kevlar vest. We are registered at a local bed & breakfast as *encrypted*, I am here to go fishing with my cousin. Willmore arrived a short time ago, and will be sending reports with mine. We have a convincing cover, although I am disappointed not to be his kissing cousin, (sorry, I will try to keep a professional head about me). Willmore has gone on a river fishing day-trip with the same company that Pacey Whitter was on. He has Agent Keila with him, she is a water retriever breed, so shouldn't attract undue notice. Willmore is wearing a very fetching pair of waders. I am going to the sheriffs' office to report a lost necklace, and hope to glean information while there. The NSA presence in town seems to have wound down, but I am loath to show myself too openly yet. I will attempt to get more tissue samples from the fish warehouse later tonight, Willmore and Keila will back me up. I'll send them in another secret pooch pouch. Report from Agent Keila follows, she said you would know where to translate it? (By the way, if she says she needs chocolate, please don't comply, it's bad for dogs.)

Kiwiphile.
