The Planes

Planes are the principle portion of TWWTM. They are large, circular, flat pieces of land suspended within The Mists, connected to one another by great bridges.

The smallest of the inhabited planes are appoximately 5 Mm in diameter. The largest is estimated to be over 100 Mm in diameter.

All planes consitently behave as though they were a planet of approximately 10 Mm diameter. Gravity is consistently "down" as though each were a planet of roughly 4,500 Yg. This calculates to an acceleration due to gravity of approximately 11 m/s^2. It is assumed at this time that this behavior is magical in nature.

All planes exist within a bubble of breathable atmosphere. Approximately 76% Nitrogen, 24% Oxygen, with trace quantities of other gasses.

Climates on planes vary definitively. They all maintain temperatures between 223 and 310 K. Significant percipitation has been observed on planes with no major bodies of water, tornadoes observed on worlds with no major temperature differences, storms always have spin to them despite no planetary rotation to produce a Corealis effect, major bodies of water experience tides despite no lunar bodies, are some of the unexplainable phenomenon observed within the planes.

Each plane simultaneously experiences a day/night cycle of approximately twenty-four hours. Day and night are consitently twelve hours each, with no solstices nor equinoxes. Locals claim this phenomenon, (as well as some other phenomenon), to be controlled through what might be considered the "center" plane, The Pillar of Time. Indeed, many observed phenomenon have appeared to be consistent with events occuring on this plane.

Seismic and volcanic activity has been observed on the larger planes.
