Welcome
Welcome. We are The Researchers. We study and document knowledge on various alternate realities. By "alternate
realities", we of course refer to various worlds that are theorized to exist. There are theorized to exist infinite alternate realities where each reality
may or may not be significantly different from one another. These realities, may have differing laws of physics,
which lead to vastly different worlds. In the majority of worlds discovered where physics differed even slightly,
the world was beyond our understanding, if they did support life of their own, there is no way for us to study.
The worlds we do study, are different in a key way, the existance of magic.
Magic is difficult to define. It is some kind of phenomenon that allows the known laws of physics to be circumvented
It is important, in that its laws differ from reality to reality. The way it is implemented in one world, what
may be done with it, what may stop it, can alter significantly between worlds. Its mechanism is suspected to
exist somewhere within the realm of quantum physics, however this is highly speculative. Our studies, therefore
do not focus on how magic exists, but accept it as a given and study how it is implemented in each reality.
Our studies focus on the histories, politics, geographies, and other such things regarding these realities.
There are currently four worlds discovered and being studied by The Researchers. The "Worlds Within the Mists"
is the most recently discovered, and by far the most different from the other three. It is far older and far
larger, as well as having the bizzare quality of having only one instance of itself. The other realities have and
infinite number of alternate possibilities amongst themselves (we only study one "key" reality of each).
But the Worlds Within the Mists has no such parallel realities.
Within these articles, are presented all information on The Worlds Within the Mists, as we have discovered,
and decided to release for your viewing. As you are probably wondering, all information thus discovered on
the remaining realities shall not be published for viewing yet, for our own reasons.
The advised method for navigating this site, read through an article. Links will exist within the article to relevant other pages,
as they are created. Follow whichever link most interests you. These should, theoretically, take you through everything.
Also pay attention to the "Update Log" page. This will indicate when new pages are added, and when information is altered
in existing articles. An index function and a search function will be added as this site grows in size.
The site is yours to explore.
Good day,
The Researchers
