Background: Rei grew up in the small White Tiger village in China,
learning to Beyblade and becoming the best in that area. As a young boy
he loved to read about Beyblading and became very interested in its
history. He was selected to be given the White Tiger bitbeast, Driger,
by Lee's grandfather and left that very night, leaving his old team to
travel the world.
Rei's the cool headed one of the group. There are few times he actually
loses his temper but has quite a bit of an attitude of his own. His
techniques rely on the speed of his bitbeast Driger, which makes him an
all around expert blader who doesn't excel in all one area. He's the
leader of White Tiger X and makes it far until he has to battle Kai in
the second world tournament. Of all things he values friendship the
strongest and will do anything not to let down his team.
Rei was first introduced as a guest competitor in the Regional Beyblade
Championship in Japan. There he competed against Tyson, much to his
boredom, and won the first session by shattering his defense ring with
his Tiger Claw attack. In the second session somehow Tyson won and Rei
surrendered the battle and ended up joining Tyson, Max, and Kai as the
Blade Breakers. They went straight to the Asian tournament where they
met up with Rei's old team, comprising of Lee, Mariah, Kevin, and Gary.
Eventually they won out, Rei having gained back their trust where they
proceeded to win the American tournament, Rei losing to both Eddy and
Steve of the All Starz alone the way. Getting side-tracked in Europe
Rei battles and ties with Oliver. In the World Tournament in Russia Rei
is chosen to go against Bryan, who Rei beat, though he nearly forfeited
his life.
Upon being challenged by Joseph Rei returned to Japan to join forces
with the Blade Breakers. He eventually managed to defeat Joseph and
lost his bitbeast to Dunga, finally getting it back before he had a
rivalry with love intrest, Salima, who he battled against. In the
tournament he had many wins and losses with his partner, Kai,
eventually tying with Gordo, while Kai had lost to Zeo, knocking them
both out of the tournament.
He left the Blade Breakers for the following year's World Tournament
and rejoined the White Tigers, leading them to many victories with Lee
as his tagteam partner. In his last battle he was defeated by Kai and
finally was disqualified from the tournament. He joined the
G-Revolution team after befriending Mystel and battles and looses to
Crusher of the Justice Five.
