SERMON ON THE MOUNT?

Jesus use a modem, At the Sermon on the Mount?
Did Paul use a laptop, With lots of RAM and
ROM? Were his letters posted on BBS, At paul.rome.com? Did the man
from Macedonia, Send an e-mail saying "Come?" Did Paul use a laptop,
With lots of RAM and ROM?
Did Moses use a joystick, At the parting of the
Sea? And a satellite guidance tracking system, To show him where to
be? Did he write the law on tablets, Or are they really on CD? Did
Moses use a joystick, At the parting of the Sea?
Did Jesus really die for us, One day upon a
tree? Or was it a hologram, or technical wizardry? Can you download
the live action video clip, To play on your pc? Did Jesus really die
for us, One day upon a tree?
Have the wonders of this modern age, Made you
question what is true? How a single man, in a simple time, Could
offer life anew? How a sinless life, a cruel death, Then a glorious
life again, Could offer more to a desperate world, Than all the
inventions of man?
If in your life, the voice of God, Is sometimes
hard to hear. With other voices calling, His doesn't touch your ear.
Than set aside your laptop and modem, And all your fancy gear. And
open your Bible, open your heart, and let your Father draw
near.

THREE
BULLETS
There once was a man who had nothing for his
family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided
that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for
dinner.
As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He
shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away.
Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the
squirrel and missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a
cottonwood tree.
As he went further, he saw a large wild turkey
up in a tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A voice spoke to
him and said, "Pray first, aim high and stay focused." However, at
the same time, he saw a deer which would provide more meat than the
turkey. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he
saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally
brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the
voice again said to him, "Pray first, aim high and stay
focused."
So, the man decided to listen to God's voice.
He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild
turkey. The bullet went into the turkey, deflected off a bone and hit
the deer, killing it. When the gun fired, it knocked the man off
balance, he stepped on the rattlesnake's head which killed it and
fell backwards into a pond. When he stood up to look around, he had
fish in all his pockets, a deer and a turkey with which to feed his
family. The snake was dead simply because the man listened to
God.
Moral of the story: Keep God first and
everything else will follow.
Pray first before you do anything. Aim high in
your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let people or things
discourage you concerning your past. Do not look to man for your
blessings, but look only to God.

The Lifeline
In Ohio stands a courthouse that has an unusual
location. Raindrops that fall on the north side of the building go
inside Lake Ontario and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, while those falling
on the south side go into the Mississippi River and the Gulf of
Mexico. At precisely the point of the peak of the roof, just a gentle
puff of wind can determine the destiny of many raindrops. It will
make a difference of more than 2,000 miles as to their final
destination.
The spiritual application is clear. By the
smallest deed or choice of words we might set in motion influence
that could change the course of others' lives here and now, and could
also affect their eternal destiny. An unkind word or a thoughtless
act can do much damage. On the other hand, a kind word, a helpful
deed, a pat on the back, a sincere testimony for Christ may
accomplish much good. Anyone of these little things could encourage,
give renewed hope, and even be used of God to bring a person to
Christ.
