She failed.
Aeryn had fallen asleep. She had stayed close, watched him, shared his bed and waited for the chance to foil his plans. It was easy. He talked in his sleep.
John was insane. He wanted Aeryn all to himself. He killed Rygel before she caught on. Aeryn had to save the rest of the crew and protect John too. She still loved him.
What made her wake up so abruptly? Right, she remembered now, she heard a voice.
John shifted his position so that he could caress her cheek and said
"Aeryn, you were talking in your sleep."
Crichton thought:
That was cruel of me but I have to keep Aeryn off balance.
She'll stay even closer to me now as she tries to figure out if I'm on to what she's doing.
I'm not crazy. Yes, I killed Rygel but I had to. Aeryn had to believe I'd do anything to keep her. Now she protects me. My plan is working.
Did I push her too far? She looks scared. I can't have that.
Crichton kissed Aeryn with a tenderness and passion that left them breathless.
Later, embracing her gently he whispered:
"Baby, I'll love you always."

John: “You hungry?”
Aeryn: “Not if you cooked”
John: “What woman! I am a wonderful cook, I just don’t have the right
equipment”
Aeryn: "Yes you do."
Later...
Aeryn gives John a quick kiss as she bounces out of bed. She looks over her
shoulder to see John grinning at her.
Aeryn: “You like?”
John: “Yep”
As Aeryn steps into the shower, John comms DArgo. “Meet me in the cargo bay
in an arn.”
DArgo: “John, is something wrong?”
John: “Just meet me, we’ll talk then”
John walks over to the shower, steps in and says: “You missed a spot.”
DArgo: “You are late.”
Aeryn: “John insisted on making me breakfast.”
DArgo: “You mean lunch” John is meeting me soon.”
Aeryn: “He is up to something and I must find out what it is. Listen, I’m counting on you to help me.”
DArgo: “I know.”
Aeryn: “John must never know I’ve talked to you”.
As Aeryn walks away, DArgo thought back to when John came to him with his ‘plan’ to get Aeryn back. He told John not to attempt it. Frelling plan got Rygel killed and him in the middle of everything. DArgo had a plan of his own.
As DArgo entered the cargo bay John appeared and said: “You’re late”
DArgo: “You wanted to tell me something”
John: “DArgo, I don’t like manipulating Aeryn. She thinks I’m a killer. I have to tell her I didn’t mean to kill Rygel.”
DArgo: “I know you didn’t but you let Aeryn believe you did and it has served you well has it not?
John: “Yeah, but she thinks I’m crazy. I was desperate. She was leaving me man.”
DArgo: “I know John. It was a bad plan”
John: “So will you help me?”
DArgo: “Yes, now we try my plan?”
After John heard DArgo’s plan he felt sick.
John: “No, man I can’t do that.”
DArgo: “Why not”
John: “You can’t bring me back.”
DArgo: “Aeryn can”
John: “What if you hit me too hard?”
John recalled the last time he was on the receiving end of DArgo’s rage.
DArgo: “I know what I am doing. Make me your next target. Sooner or later I would have to be right?”
John: “But DArgo, this is gonna hurt”
Getting angry, DArgo bellows, “This is the only way, unless you plan to confess everything to her”
John: “Alright, alright, when?”
DArgo: “Tonight”
Pilot: “Officer Sun, wake up. You must stop them from fighting.”
Aeryn: “Stop who?”
Pilot: “Commander Crichton and Ka DArgo!”
Aeryn: “Where are they Pilot?”
Pilot: “The Observation Deck”
As Aeryn ran onto the deck DArgo delivered a deathblow square into John’s chest--stopping his heart.
DArgo: “He tried to kill me.”
Aeryn: How could you, he’s weaker than you. He’s not breathing!
DArgo: “I only meant to stop him.”
Aeryn moved quickly to resuscitate John. Just when she thought all attempts had failed, he gasped and opened his eyes.
John: Close one?
Aeryn: Try that again, and I’ll kill you.
That night.
Aeryn: “John, why did you attack DArgo?”
John: “If I did something terrible would you still love me?”
Aeryn was hoping that one day John would confide in her.
She held her breath and said: “John, what do you mean?”
John: “I, this is so hard”
Aeryn: “You can tell me anything.”
John: “I hope you mean that”
Aeryn: “I love you, trust me.”
John: “I love you too baby. Just remember that.”
As John confessed everything, Aeryn’s emotions ranged from hurt to rage to hurt again.
John: “Can you forgive me Aeryn?”
Aeryn: “Give me time John”
