A BARDS TALE
By Danny

Once upon a young spring day
I met a knight going on his way
To see the world so vast and great
To go through life and challenge fate
He stopped up short and looked my way
His eyes shone blue as if to say
"Im strong and brave and clever too
Dont get in my way or i'll butcher you"

I turned around and didnt look back
Behind me his armor went clankity clack
As he searched out a bigger dragon to slay
I thought to myself "That lads going to pay"
I walked down the path all covered with leaves
I whistled a tune wilst sipping my mead
Through woods, hills, valleys and swamp
Onward with life no time to stop

After a mile on foot and a mile on horse
Nothing had happend, I was in remorse
And to top it all off it started to rain
And the hail that followed became quite a pain
So I stopped at a cave at the foot of the mount
It was small and stuffy but dry is what count
I unrolled my pack and lay down to rest
Not knowing that this cave would put me to the test

I woke with a start but not knowing why
Until I heard heavy breathing that sounded like a sigh
My heart started thumping out of control
What was here with me I just did not know
My mind ran ramped with all sorts of thoughts
Goblins, and trolls and thing-a-ma-bots
Were sneaking up on me with weapons of doom
I wondered if this cave would end as my tomb

In absolute terror I cowered in my bag
A few moments passed and time seemed to lag
I did not get eaten or torn asunder
All I heard was a sigh and the peal of thunder
I got up the nerve to light up a fire
The smoke poured off like a funeral pyre
The cave lit up in a luminous glow
And that’s when I saw my mystery foe

The rabbit was sitting right next to my bed
Just pleading with me that it wanted to be fed
I suddenly laughed and it hopped out of sight
This small little thing almost sent me to flight
I calmed it down and gave it some food
And from that moment to me it was glued
We became fast friends and slept out the storm
Then we continued our travels early next morn.
