June of 1995, the time when the first meeting of Adventist students to plan work out an organization that would cater the needs of the Adventist students in the university of having fellowship, strengthening the faith and being a light in promoting Christian virtues in the institution. Through this consciousness, the organization of the Adventist Students’ Organization (ASO) was then hatched.  After careful planning and prayers, the organization was renamed as the University of Cebu - Adventist Students’ Society (UC-AdS) and was formally organized and launched in August of the same year.  It was also then that the words of Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine” became the battle cry of the organization.

Though the organization has had its rough sailing in its infancy year, its objectives of promoting camaraderie and fellowship among its members have been fulfilled.  It has also gradually made its name recognized to some churches through church visitations and social gatherings.

During the school year of 1996, the organization has refocused itself in the strengthening of the organization and enriching its members. Mid-week prayers were being conducted, consolidated requests and power prayers for exemptions on examinations that fall on the Sabbath and having a Revelation Seminar as its noted activities.  Hiking and beach activities has also been a norm in establishing fellowship within the organization.

Then, from there our we became instrument to strengthen each others faith. The second semester of the same school year has been a momentum for the organization as its recognition inside and outside the school and within the Seventh-day Adventist church has gained ground. As it is continually being promoted to the church, its members have been experiencing and enjoying the fruits of being one through God’s guidance. 


Now, Adventist students from other institutions have been encouraged and have been looking forward to establishing their own group and also enjoy the same experience UC-AdS is having.
