The spirit that animates us can be exceptionally strong in some people, transcending even death.

The story behind this poem appears below.

Amy Biehl Lives

In the township she loved, she died
For the cause she embraced
With heart and soul and so
Her Spirit lived! She lives again

A divine grace creates
Through agony and pain
A profound transfiguration
Weakness to Strength
Fear to Hope
Anger to Joy
Hatred to Love

She will live with us again
She lived with us before
She lives with us now
She will live with us tomorrow
She has lived within us forever
