Bandbox are a group of music fans who hope to revive the live music scene for thoughtful, roots-based artists in and around Torbay. What does this "mission statement" mean in plain english? Well, simply that we want to see good top quality Americana, blues, country and folk acts playing in the Bay. At present that means putting on shows at The Blue Walnut in Chelston. We also would like to encourage musically sympathetic, local acts to play support to these artists.

Critics have been struggling to pin down The HaveNots sound since the Leicester duo of Liam Dullaghan and Sophia Marshall first got together in 2002. Their music has been described at times as pop, indie, folk, emo-core, alt-country and a dozen other descriptions involving the adjectives "jingle-jangle", "melancholic" and "sundrenched". Whatever the style of music the twentysomething duo play, they have managed to gain critical praise across the board, a record deal with Cooking Vinyl and a series of high profile support slots (Be Good Tanyas, Tift Merritt, The Sadies, Chris Mills).
