CAREER: Lately you may feel as if you're treading water. The reason
becomes evident around January 16th. Unrealistic expectations are damaging
your credibility. This perspective gets your house in order. Goods and
services improve with strategies and attitudes after the 22nd. Suddenly,
you're an industry leader or a major player on the winning team. Around
February 20th, circumstances remove you from the field or floor. You
welcome the break, but you won't get such a good view of the action in
your new spot.
By the Vernal Equinox, your research or administrative
tenure pays off. Whether developing a business or paving your own career
path, expect this upswing to last the next few months. Individualists buy
into the established order by April 21st when they meet a deal too good to
resist. Circumstances on or after the 26th give you a little time to
exercise your options. By then, the Sun is in your Sign, and you're
comfortable in your appointed or hired role. An oversight by a supervisor
or parent company ends near or on June 6th. Now you're free to operate
however you want.
Startup excitement fades to a manageable level late in
June, and you're free to explore other possibilities from the comfort of
your routine. Business and social life intertwine pleasantly near July
24th, although getting too chummy with subordinates or competitors could
blunt your edge. At first you celebrate this recasting of job
descriptions, but after August 28th it may be necessary to terminate or
reassign staff members whose efforts are counterproductive. For all the
good things about project or business management, this is the one that
hurts the most.
In the final week of September you're ready for
conventions and trade shows. Your handshake and smile can sell anything.
By October 22nd you should delegate or pass the buck. On the 24th,
utilitarian methods appear harsh and tyrannical. This might be how you get
the job done, but it's not how you endear yourself to coworkers and
long-term clients. Some undercurrents of strong emotion rise up around
Thanksgiving when everyone is making nice. Take this time to look over
your accomplishments of the past year and think about areas that need
improvement.
