Maybe the pair should have kept their marriage secret; as soon as it was let slip that the pair were still together, every interviewer wanted to know about those songs and began delving into their personal life, something that neither of them appreciated. May 2000 - Marshall releases "The Marshall Mathers LP". He holds his album release party in New York. Kim and Dawn are both in attendence. May 2000 – Byron Williams, Marshall’s recently sacked bodyguard began publicising his new book about life as Slim’s bodyguard. The book, which wasn’t released until August, told of Kim and Marshall’s vicious fights and stories of underage sex and groupies. In the book, he details their fights and how Kim was often violent towards Marshall, but he never fought back. The book also claims that Kim (who was living with Dawn at the time) was always out, which led Em to believe she was unfaithful. June 3rd – Marshall confronts and threatens Douglas Dail, who works for ICP with a gun in Warren after he called him “gay” in front of Kim. June 4th – Marshall goes to the “Hot Rocks Café” where he suspects Kim is with another man. His suspicions are confirmed when he sees Kim and John Guerra locking lips. Marshall confronts Guerra, repeatedly hitting him over the head with his gun. When the police arrive, Marshall and his friend, Kim and another man, Robert Brown are all arrested. Kim is charged with disturbing the peace. The pair split over the “kissing incident”. Marshall is in serious trouble with the law, something which Marshall’s family blame on Kim. Betty Kresin, Marshall’s grandma claimed just before Marshall’s court hearing, that Kim was drunk and was with three men, not one. |
